| Riley's going on a 3 hour car ride!! In a few weeks, Riley is going to my cottage in Michigan. Its going to take around 3 hours to get there. I took Riley on an hour and a half car ride when he was 6 months old and he got a little sick. Now hes a year old, so hopefully that will help his car sickness. Anyway, how can I make Riley's trip as easy as possible?? Is there any medicine that will help his car sickness?? TIA! |

| Try giving him a ginger snap about 10 or 15 minutes before leaving. That helps Ellie. I don't like most of the meds prescribe for this because it just seems a vet should be right there if they are given (my opnion only).

| Ok. What is a Ginger Snap and where can I get them? I've heard of them, but I can't remember what they are. |

| Parker seat sits up high where he can look out. He also use to get carsickness bad. My vet suggested to let him ride in his seat in the front and he hasn't gotten sick since. I do turn off the airbag for the passenger seat that he is in, and I do talk to him and that seems to help. I did try the ginger snap with him, but it didn't work. I have read that it does work for some.

| It is a type of cookie and can be found at just about any grocery store.

| Ginger Snaps didn't work for my Lil Deuce Coupe either. From suggestions here, I give him 1/2 a Bonnie tablet. Its like Dramamine, but doesn't cause drowiness. We're planning a 7 - 8 hour trip in a few weeks, taking all 5 of our babies! I must admit, I am a little stressed over the thought. We'll be staying in the RV, which will be fine, its just the traveling I'm dreading.

| When I take my dogs to my parents house (3 hour drive), I put both of them in their crates in the back seat and they both sleep the whole way there. A couple months ago, I had to take KaCee on an 8 hour drive. I bought an extra large pop up crate that fit in the back seat for her to play in.

| Does Riley get to go on regular (shorter) car trips? Sometimes the sickness is more about anxiety than motion sickness. With Punkin that was her problem and after she got used to going in the car and arriving at fun places (parks etc.) she ADORES the car and is sooo good and does not throw up. |
