| I think if it is for something that is not physical ( you know, being blind, deaf, etc.) then you have to get a note from your psychiatrist. i know that the airlines, etc, only recognize service animals for anything but physical dissabilities if there is a note from a psychiatrist/psychologist. Hope that helps!

| you need to go see your pyschiatrist and get a letter on his letterhead and it must be no older than 1 year. That is all you have to do for most airlines. Carry the letter with you and be prepared to show it when asked. Very simple to have your baby with you and keep you calm on the flight!! |

| be careful...Amtrak does not allow "comfort animals". I'm not sure about all the airlines. They can refuse comfort animals because they are not providing a service.

| i think you should be fine in only getting a psychiatric letter and show it to them... because i have a service dog and they ask for that sometimes..

YT 500 Club Member | A service dog is different from a therapy dog and/or comfort dog. Make sure that your doctor specifically calls your dog a "service dog/animal" and does not refer to him/her as a "pet." Your doctor probably knows how the letter should read, but if not, there are sample letters online.
