| Car rides Bailey is not a fan of the car. We want him to like going in the car so we can take him places with us. Any suggestions? We have tried holding him in our laps and we have a bag for him (which he HATES!!). Even when he sits with someone he whines a lot. His first car ride was three hours and he was not too bad. Please help!!!

| Haruka doesn't mind at all... I think it is because she is so used to it. Maybe you can have a little treat and toy.. When they get used to it, then they will find a way to be comfortable.... Sometimes it might be good not to give too much attention too.... and let them cry for sometime.. SOme dogs get motion sick.. so you want to be careful about that.

| Hot Rod got carsick at first. He seems to do better if he can see out the window. I made a seat for him out of a basket with one of his pillows and he has been better.

| well,, Cricket LOVES to ride,, GO anywhere,, car,, truck, motorcycle,, 4 wheeler,, anything and everything,, so she is no problem,, poor Daisy gets carsick and has a RX for that (Cerenia) but now the more she rides (shes 18 months now),,, since she no longer gets carsick,, she loves it!! and Trixie seems just fine in the car or truck, ,havent tried her on the motorcycle yet,, I DO need to do that!! I think they more they ride,, the easier or better it is for them,,even little short around the block a few times rides daily,, helps greatly I think good luck!

| I'm a fan of the Lookout car seats. Lucy used to just squirm in my arms or down in my lap where she couldn't see out (not to mention it's dangerous). With her Lookout seat she sits high enough to see everthing and pretty much ignores us she is so busy-and safe She loves the car now!

| Hi, I have a carseat as well for the pups. I recommend putting your pup in the car with you, go for a drive around the block, give him a treat. Do this a couple of times a week perhaps increasing the time of the drive and perhaps stopping somewhere like petsmart, this way he doesn't feel that the car equals vet all of the time ... he will warm up to going for rides. When Zander joined our home, it was summer so I would take him with us on the drive to drop off my son at the ymca, I would bring his dry food so he could eat in the car, he barely noticed the car ride. Since I did this throughout July he became a good car rider. Jazzie does well, but if I open the windows and she hears other big truck noises, motorcycles, she get nervous, so I give her a dose of Quiet Moment before leaving the house and it helps some. Hope your pup comes around to liking car rides

My Little Man! Donating Member | I had regular car seat for Maxi but he would whine also so I went and got him console car seat. I tell you he has gotten a lot better! Maybe he thinks he is closer to me and I guess doesnt complain as much. Usually he whines when I am stopping and going through signal lights if I am on the highway he is sleeping When you do get a carseat just make sure you have it at home for a while so your baby will get use to it
