Has anyone ever heard of a Travel Agent wanting a copy of health cert in advance for a dog that is going to fly in cabin?

Did you ask why she wanted it? Usually they are only good for a short time before the flight....

nah that is a first....but you never know what these airlines want...things are always changing. I do know that the cert is only good for a short window so you want to be sure to not get that too far in advance.

I have never heard of this.
I have someone flying in to pick up a Yorkie and they said their travel agent asked for a copy to email one ASAP.
I requested the name of the Travel Agent because I was going to call them and explain that they are only good for 10 days and we don't get them until a few days before the flight in case we have to reschedule due to weather or whatever then we still have a few days to reschedule flight. But when they responded back to me they just said they will tell the Agent.
This is the first I have ever heard anything like this and I have had people to fly in to pick up pets before??
Thought I would ask. I did talk to a Travel Agent here and they said they have never heard of this either.

I have never heard of it but my vet has. He says he gets requests for it often even when they are just flying in the cabin with the owners. The health certificate is good for about 10 days.

I understand completely having a Health Cert for any pet flying to get on the plane with.
What I am asking is has anyone ever heard of a Travel Agent requesting a copy and wanting it in advance?
Health Certs are valid for 10 days and when booking flights in advance this would never work anyways?
Anytime a pup travels by plane we have a health cert for them even if the new owner is flying in to pick them up.

My Sassy and I flew to New Jersey on December 20th. I was told I needed the health certificate and so I got one.

Well...not one person requested to view it. It is still in my purse for the return flight but it wasn't of interest to anyone at all.

Hmmm....That is strange...They're only valid for a short period of time. I'm not sure why the travel agent would want one so far in advance??

I've only been asked once (his 1st flight) never again after that. This most recent trip home I got one, but lost it in the air port at the ticket counter. No one asked me.

I get mine free with his care plan, but I can understand.

I would speak with the travel agent or have the vet call him/her. I was told they are only valid for 7-14 up to travel. You would have to get it right before travel. Now you can have the vet disclose your pets health file so that the agent can see they are current on shots and healthy.
