I was going to say you could teach him how to jump up on his back legs, but I'm not sure this is a good idea, aren't yorkies prone to hip problems? I do this trick with my big dogs.

you mean stand up on two legs? Thats his stand command, he does do that but usually its for a twirl or a walk toward me on two legs. He loves it, he did it naturally so I just tweaked it into a command. I need a new one, he is very impatient and he learns too quickly. Im brain dead and cant think of one. I thought about balancing a treat on his nose but his nose is too small, haha. Even a cat treat would fall off~ help me

how did you teach him to do all of this? how old is he? all i can get rex to do is "sit", and that's only if i have a treat!

Did you teach him sit and shake hands? I tell him to "sit" then I just grab one of his paws and say "shake". I did it multiple times then finally when I say "shake" he lifts his paw then I give him a treat.

How about teaching him to catch a frisbee midair outside, if you've got a back yard or a park nearby. Our little girl loves her soft frisbee that also comes in a small size.

how about:

hide your eyes (paw over the nose or eyes)

wave (like shake except you don't take his foot and the wave is a little higher in the air then shake. i like this one when its combined with sit up)

army crawl

I love that one! I call it "cover". I have been working with my oldest on it for the longest time but she just doesn't "get it". LOL. The method I was taught it to take a tiny piece of tape (tissue tape, that doesn't stick) on her nose. I've also tried with implied direction. What is your method? I have no doubt that Queequeg will be able to do it once I start teaching her advanced tricks, though.

Well speak was a interesting method because he doesn't really bark that much. All I did was get him really excited before the training. Then I asked him to speak and stared deep into his eyes, he would then get stressed and whine a little and I would praise him...then as we continued we kept asking him for more until a bark surfaced.

The roll over thing was just me showing him how to do it and then praising him, after a while he would do it half way and I would hep him the rest and eventually he got it. I just do one trick at a time and work until it is perfected, while still reviewing past ones.

Tino is 1 yr and 4 months old

I am definately going to teach these, he is always grabbing his nose when he is sleepy~ I think that would be cute. But I think I will call it "where is the dog catcher" then have him cover his eyes!! That would be funny.

Nice tricks everyone. Do you teach them in your own houses or do you take them training b/c mine don't know any tricks and they are 15 weeks old.Hmmm
