Default Biggie's potty training help

We got Biggie on Friday. He'll be 9 weeks on Monday. The breeder never let him outside and advised that he was hit and miss with the Potty pad indoors. Friday when he got home we had his crate in a large play pen in the Kitchen with a pee pad in the corner of the play pen. He went #1 and #2 on the pad all day friday without issue BUT after laying down for a nap with my wife at around 8pm he woke up at nearly 11 and finally realized that his family was no longer around and it's been downhill since.

Since then it's been extremely difficult to get him to use the pad at all. He went to the vet and got his second round of shots yesterday so we tried to start training him to go outdoors. Being cold here in Ohio still, even with a sweater he just stands at my feet and shivers and cries when outdoors and won't go. I've taken a fresh pee pad with me outdoors each time and he still will not go however several times he's come in and peed once back inside the play pen in the Kitchen (not on the pad).

We're trying to create some consistency with Biggie but are lost on what to do since he will not go outside which is our ultimate goal. The Vet suggested consistency is the key and to try and try to get him to go outside but we've had two 40 minute sessions outside today after feedings with no luck. (He'll ultimately stop crying and try to go asleep on my shoe)

AND speaking of inconsistency...Twice he's peed in his pen (once on the pad and once not) and then we have taken him out to play and not 5 minutes after the previous pee he's decided to pee while playing with us on the carpet.

Any suggestions on creating consistency so he quits going all over would be greatly appreciated...and sorry for the long post.

I am still working with Izzy and I have had her for 1 week and 1 day today. She is 14 weeks old and she had never been outside when we got her. At first she HATED the grass. Now after 2 days of crate training during the day...meaning this:
She was in the crate only. Let out every 1-2 hours for potty breaks. If she didn't go to the bathroom then she went right back in her crate. After another 1-2 hours outside again. If nothing back in the crate. After doing this all day the first day she finally went about 3PM. Then the next day she did basically the same day, but by day 3 she is doing MUCH better.

I by no means have her trained yet but we are working on it. I did finally set her up in a closed gated area in the kitchen when I am gone for a while and she goes on the newspaper.

At first I thought I was gonna freak out with her cause she had never been on grass and she hated it. Last night for the first time she went both pee and poo in the grass YIPEEEE!

That is how I have been consistent, but you may not be at home all the time to do that. It definitely takes work with these babies. GOOD LUCK

Sorry I can't help you, I only crate Pheobe at night for sleep, and at day she was in her playpen (Petsmart)COVER with pee-pads, toys food, water and little by little I remove the pads, when she was out of the x-pen I keep the eagle eye on her, she will go out too, and do her business. She is now 100% potty train, and she has acces to house freely. She use her pee-pad (only one). So I don't worry about the weather. She has a baby gate(waltmart) that we use, whe we are not at home. But be patient your baby still very little, it will take time and consistency.
