Default Pees On People?!?!?

Rosie goes to the door when she needs to pee, but sometimes she pees in the house when she's mad at us. Today, she was at my neighbor's. When he wasn't paying attention to her, she got mad because he wasn't paying attention to her and peed on him Any suggestions on how to correct this behavior?

hehe Harley has done this. My dad ignored Harley when he came home from work once and while he was watching tv Harley ran into the room, pee'd on his boots and then hauled BLEEP out of the room lol I don't know why they do it and I know it is probably pretty bad but I can't help but laugh when they do this.

Oh wow your dog knows sign language She's saying "Well Piss on You" lol. If your neighbor isnt interested in the dog or doesnt like dogs I wouldnt let her down around him, you arent going to win him over w/that type of behavior. I just wouldnt let her down anywhere that you thought it might happen. And definately pick her up & say noooo noooo. That had to be so embarrassing for both of you. With my neighbor I would have probably said "I swear I didnt tell her to do that "

It's a dominance behaviour. Your yorkie is trying to make the new person "submit" to her authority. You should use a very firm, calm voice and tell her "no", and then preferably put her outside or into a "time out" space for 5 minutes or so.

If your dog pees on you it's their way of saying "she's mine - stay away".

Girl dogs mark their "territory" just like boy dogs.

?!?
lol, okay okay...
If you have guests over, try to make it a point to either have her on a leash when you answer the door and keep her on it for the first 5 minutes that they're in the house or simply don't let her jump up into their laps so she can't pee on them and see if she goes and pees elsewhere. And just teach her that she's not allowed to be all over company.

I certainly WOULD NOT place her out of the room in an attempt to "punish" her. It's doing nothing more than avoiding the situation.
If she does manage to get by you and pee on them, then I'd scold her and take her outside to potty (even though she may have eliminated all she had on your guests lap). If she just stands there, let her do just that for a few seconds to a minute and then take her back inside where I'd put her on a leash and keep her w/ you or even have your guests hold the leash or drape it on their lap. Either way, she's not to get in their lap again and if she does, she should be corrected for it, but kept in the room w/ you so she learns just what it is that is unacceptable rather than it being avoided.

Did she pee on his lap or shoe? I was under the impression it was his shoe.

She peed on his lab She's not marking her territory. She only does this when she's mad. She's so stubborn!!! I wasn't there, but my neighbor scolded her. I can't pay attention to her 24/7 just so she doesn't pee everywhere.

You can't pay attention to her 24/7 just so she doesn't pee everywhere???

So you just let her pee whenever and wherever she wants to? Is she not housebroken? I had to have misunderstood what you typed.

In my suggestion, I didn't say anything about having to be on top of her 24/7. Just when you have guests over for the first 5 minutes of their visit. That is, if you actually want this to stop.
If your guest was present and you were not, perhaps she really did just do this out of excitement or being lazy. It unlike a dog to do something out of spite, despite whatever human emotion we might like to attribute to our dogs.

She is housebroken because she goes to the door or rings the bell when she needs to pee. She never peed on anyone before. She did this because she was mad at him for not playing with her. Now I feel like if we don't play with her all the time she will pee on someone. This is a behavior problem that I don't know how to fix.

I know this isn't funny, but the same thing happened to my husband and he wrote an incredibly funny blog about it. You can see it here.

My mom's Maltese just doesn't like my husband sometimes...

As for your problem, I agree that the best thing to do is just be consistent with her house training and watch her closely when you have company over. She wouldn't purposely do things to upset you.

Angry Bubbles tries to piss on my at the park

It was strange, the first time I took him to the dog park he jump out of my arms quickly made a round of butt sniffing came back and pissed on me. The sad part was that I had no idea he had peed on me. All I knew was he was at my foot and everyone was looking at me and laughing. Finally, a lady came over chuckling and said, "I think he just put his name on your pants." I looked down and saw the pee running down my pants thinking, "oh he's going to get it now!" But then I looked at him, all happy sitting on my foot like "this is my mom! stay away, mine all mine." and thought, "oh well it's just a little pee." So I urged him and cinnamon to make friends and again he made his round, this time he came back and sat on my foot without peeing. I was glad so I started talking to the people around me, and then he lifted his leg and did it again. I scolded him while everyone else laughed. It was quite an embarrassing moment. By the time we left he had marked both legs and my boots. thank god they were mid calf boots, I would have been horrified if pee actually touched my leg!!

----Sure you do. I already gave you sound advice on how to stop this. Whether or not you give it a go is up to you, if you really did want this to not happen again that is...
And I never questioned if she wasn't housebroken. I brought up the lazy issue or her forgetting because I wondered if she was a puppy. Just because a dog KNOWS it should go outside or ring the bell when they feel like they have to potty doesn't mean that they always are actively thinking and do so...not puppies anyway.

Sounds like you've already diagnosed the problem yourself and weren't looking for advice though, so I appologize.

LOL, sounds like this boy thinks he's running something. It sounds like to me he's thinking he's alpha and he wants to make sure everyone else knows it. I personally don't believe in the 'mad' thing. When your friend wouldn't play with him, the dog might have taken it as being ignored and an alpha dog doesn't like that and will find some way to try and show dominance. I think if the dog KNEW it wasn't the alpha in the pack, it wouldn't do it, because it's not his place to mark ownership, only alpha can do that. JMHO

I'm going to take bubbles to the bathroom and pee on him, so he can understand I'm the boss! LOL

Yeah I yelled at him that day he hasn't done it since. He does sit on my foot on occasion. Cinnamon never leaves my side. she's the submissive one now. I don't know why.
