So I have 2 puppies and they are both kind of pad trained. Not really though. So...when was the youngest that you potty trained your yorkies on the pee pad? Just wondering and how did you do that? <333

romeo was wee wee pad trained @ 4 months. it took patience and simple solutions spray.

But isn't their urine supposed to attract them and once you sprayed the stuff, did they sniff it immediately? And then know to go there?

where ever i spray he goes and pees and poops. it works great for us. b4 he was going around the wee wee pad , but not always on it. there's something in it that attracts them.

So he hasn't had an accident since you started using that thing? AND if you didn't have anything on it would your dog still pee or pee?

we still have occasional accidents. it just really helps him go in the middle of the pad rather than the edges or bare floor. it does attract him. i just use a tiny squirt. it's a potty training aid. i think his "accidents" are intentional when i leave him home alone too long.

I used the Jump Start pads from Petsmart they are a little more expensive, but Cali was 9 weeks when I got her and trained almost immediatley to them. SHe had very few accidents maybe 3. I had her in a playpen with bedding at one end and the pad at the other it worked out great for us. Cali will only use pads though she will not go outside. Also I am home all day with her so it was easier to train her.

It took Venus a day or 2 to realize what the pads were for. Day one, she thought it was a bed and a toy and pee pad. Didn't take long for her to start going on it.

All I did was put it down, and I use the elcheapo walmart brand. After she started playing with it, I started taping them to the floor!

She's 4 months old now, and goes on her pee pad 99% of the time, unless I take her outside. She does both inside on pee pad, and outside.

Its seemed to take her a little longer to learn to poo on them though. I've notice with poo, she starts walking before she's finished. But I have seen a lot of improvement with poo lately.

When I first got her, we did outside for both pee and poo. After a week of accidents, I got the pee pads for her pen.

Our Yorkie was a about 13 weeks old when we got her and it took her 2 days to be 85% pee trained on then, and another couple of weeks for us to train her to poop on them. She still has occassional accidents. She just finished her vaccinations 2 days ago so now we're going to try and train her outside!! Wish us luck, she likes to sniff around out there but will hold it till we come in.

What is this playpen you talk about? Is it like a play pen for a baby? I might need something like this... Any details would be greatly appreciated.

My husband and I bought some 6'x8' tarp from lowes in the home and garden section and put that over our regular carpet and then a carpet remnant from lowes (again 6'x8') over the tarp. It was really cheap to get the carpet remnants so as not to mess up the regular carpet when Baloo has accidents since we live in an apartment. Then we set up the x-pen for Baloo, with his crate at one end and his pee-pads at the other end.

To train him to go on the pads we put his leash on him, stand inside the x-pen with him and make sure that he is always on the pads and not wandering around the pen. Or we sit with him and move ourselves to block his path so he doesn't leave the pee pads until he does his thing and then praise and give him treats. The best time to teach him what the pads are for is right after breakfast or as soon as you get up in the morning. So far this has been working really well, but there are the occasional accidents.

We also use the Jump Start pads by Simple Solution. Abbey was 85% trained in about 2 weeks. (we got her at 11 weeks) Now at 6 months she is 99%. She sometimes will have an accident, but just occasionally. It is so nice not to have to get up at night to take her out. And when we took her on vacation with us (twice) to visit friends and family, we just put her pads down where she could find them and she used them 100%...no accidents anywhere. I am a believer in the pads. I do plan to move to the less expensive pads when she is 100% all the time for 1-2 months in a row.

Well...see we also have a baby pen and they r fine going in there, Once we bring them outside of their "homes" they think they can go anywhere. We show them the pads and we'll watch them carefully and then i'll see them going pee on the carpet. I don't understand because it's made of the same material. Please help. I am seriously confused.

i use arm & hammer from target too. they are great.
