Default Biting furniture

My puppy's getting some serious ideas about chewing on one particular piece of furniture. He has chew toys and all but all he does with them is running around and throwing. He lies down, starts scratching the kitchen cart, then gets up and starts barking at it and biting. It would be actually very funny if it wasn't for teeth marks, and his jaws ARE getting stronger. I tried Bitter Cherry swabs but he doesn't seem to mind the taste. Is there any spray that keeps them away from such stuff?

there is bitter apple.. umm..you can also try getting some limon juice and put it in water and spraying on there...

and if all else feels.. try going to petco or petsmart and see what they have..

Good luck in trying to get your furbaby to stop

Mimi is a chewer and it was driving me crazy. She chewed my walls, furniture, shoes, cables, my sons game controller and his DS charger (his fault though because I told him to not leave anything laying around like 50 times), my fiancee's belt...hmmmm and many more things. I bought bitter apple and so far no more chewing on the walls or furniture. I just try to keep everything else put away so she won't get to it. She's got plenty of toys and I also picked up some Flossies which she loves and she chews on them for hours...So far so good. They sell bitter apple at Petsmart.

Clear deodorant! It works awesome for us and stays on so much longer than the sprays.

If its wide enough maybe you could use one of these: http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...N=2032911&Ne=2

If the dog bumps it, he'll get scared away.

I've always used white vinegar. After you see him chewing/biting on a surface, wet a cloth or paper towel with vinegar and wipe the surface. I guarantee the smell alone will make him run for cover. Mine freak out when they smell vinegar now, and run the other way. Don't forget to substitute a chew toy in his mouth as soon as possible after you catch him biting the wrong thing. It worked for us. Good luck.

I totally had that problem with Stanley. Still do...but not as bad. He has his moments where he'll chew up the whole corner of the wall when I'm not looking. He was also chewing on the stopper of my door and corners in my room. Then someone suggested clear deodorant and trust me it works!! I put it on my stopper one night because he kept chewing on it, and when he went back, he gave it a sniff and a lick and walked right away. So now we just put it on places we find him chewing. Give it a try!!

Animal Smiley 019 Breeder recommendation

I don't have my Yorkie boy yet...so I'm not speaking from experience. However, a breeder (not the one I'm getting my boy from...) told me to put dish washing liquid on anything a pup chews that he's not suppose to. Sounds like it would work just like clear deoderant....but if that option doesn't work, here's another option!! Good luck...I may be asking for advice myself once my baby gets home!!!

Well, the bitter apple AND clear deodrant didn't wwork for me. Dixiee just kept on chewing. I put some tobasco sauce on my coffee table and that stopped her. I think but I am going to use the vineager also. And wwhat is this strange attraction for blinds? i have had to replacee all of them in the room where they are.

Buddy chewed up 13 rugs. All corners were chewed off. When he started on the couch that did it! I was ready to kill him but my daughter reminded me of bitter apple. Thank god for that. Corrected the problem before it got out of hand. I understand some dogs actually like it, Buddy did not.
