Teeth INNOTEK NO BARK COLLAR-it works!

I bought this no bark collar from Petsmart.com its 74.99.
it works!!!!!!
its been 4 days and i don't have it on him all the time . i had it on for the max the 1st day (12 hrs) and on saturday when we went to a bbq.the 1st day he decided he wanted to bark his head off cuz mommy and daddy were busywith house stuff,i put the collar on...it adjusted itself and presto chango...he got a charge..and shut up. and he hasnt barked since. he will make a little baby weak bark at the most...that we can handle.
go to petco for more reviews and this site has some as well. but it works for yorkies!!!!
so fingers crossed it will continue being a deterrant when i decide to use it.

Good post. I know there are a lot of members with barking issues. Some may think it's cruel, but them allowing them to bark so the entire neighborhood hates them is cruel too.

We have firends that have a s**tzu that barks constantly, over everything, I'd like to use a roll of duct tape on that one. LOL

We can't even enjoy a visit because the dog is constantly barking and they are constantrly trying to correct it. I would at least put her on a leash and keep her right next to me so I could use some Dog Whisperer on her.

Chachis barking is driving us up the wall. I am hesitant to use this type of collar because I have heard it is cruel. Does the collar fit his neck or did you have to adjust it? I am going to have to do this or the citronella collar. We are putting Chachi in training to see if that will help first

i dont think its cruel and neither does my vet. it was getting the point where it was so bad..it was traumatizing for me and my neighbors. my fiance couldnt sleep.
it was unneccesary he has other ways of telling me what he needs he could work on those..they work too!!!

i had to trust other people and innotek on this..i thought long and hard..its been about 2 1/2 months....

i started getting worried about getting fined.

u can cut it down...i dont know how small your dogs neck is,but it fits mines.
again its a personal decision.i just posted this to assist those that would consider it. i was spraying him so much..that wasnt working...dog whisperer tips werent working..bzzing the dog wasnt working. i didnt think the citronella spray would work for him...i just kept seeing him wet and stinky..plus i am allergic to citronella.
he isnt going to live in the collar..and he shouldnt.
i think this is effective for us.

the case is big....
my dog is tough and 5 lbs so far..he is sturdy.if your dog is smaller..think about it.

Default shock?

does this collar shock or just vibrate when the dog barks? if it shocks, is it strong enough to hurt the dog or just scare it? my dog is only 4 pounds and extremely vocal. i almost don't want to ask...but have you heard anything about the vocal chord surgery?

My concern would be the two metal things that protrude into the puppy's neck. Because some Yorkies have issues with their tracheas, my fear would be that this collar would damage it.

Having said that, I am definitely going to look into one. Sophie hardly ever barks inside, but when the kids are outside in the pool she will bark for *hours*.

Thanks for the link!

Sophie only weighs 7 lbs, and this collar is appropriate for 'dogs weighing as small as 12 lbs'. Looks like I'm outta luck

Default Try citronella first

Hi. I don't like shock collars but I'm not here to criticize, but rather offer some advice. Citronella works. It's not my first choice, but it's definately not as controversial as the shock collars. The nice thing is that you can buy a can of something called "Direct Stop" for $10 and try that out first before you buy the collar. Don't spray it in the face of the dog or anything, just spray it at the floor near the dog. They will instantly stop barking. Then you should immediately reward them for stopping and associate it with a command like "quiet" I've used the spray can only once or twice on Loki (We were desperate, he would go into barking "trances" almost and NOTHING would distract him. I could put a steak in front of his nose and he'd ignore it.) Anyway, I haven't sprayed him again but I have just held up the can and he stops. Not sure that's the most positive way to get him to stop, but if you all are looking for quick results, you'll get them. My goal is to figure out WHY he is barking. That might give me a better clue as to how to fix it.
