Default im about to have a nervous breakdown!!!

Our 3 1/2 month old yorkie was doing SO WELL potty training on the wee wee pads. Now she will NOT go on them! I recently changed brands- but went back to the old ones to see if she would be good again but shes WORSE! She will only go right on my carpet in front of my kitchen enterance. So i put a wee wee pad there. So now she goes right NEX TO IT- i try to cath her, but she stops and will hold it in. If i put her in her pen she holds it in until she gets out of her pen and goes on the carpet. and she WONT STOP EACTING THE WEE WEE PADS!!!!! I repremand her and she bites me and goes RIGHT BACK to eating them! I am going to cry and my hubby wants to kill her ( not literally)

she was doing SO WELL for a few weeks and had a complete relapse!

HELP!

I have no advice for you but I feel so sorry for you...I've had similar problems with Jolene. If you have any ideas, I'd be interested too.

Hi there,

I can definitely understand your frustration but at 3 1/2 month she is still very young and you must be patient. I think crating her would be a good idea, there are many suggestions how to crate in this forum.

You can also purchase pee pad holders, they keep the pad flat and in place and she won't be able to chew. As for right now, don't give her the run of the house, maybe you could get a x-pen and keep her in that area when you can't supervise her. You can also combine the crate and x-pen, keep her in the crate inside the x-pen, then after a while take her out to potty.

I am not sure what you mean with the biting, is it a playful puppy bite or does she actually really bite you?

thanks everyone. I keep her in a 4 ft x 4 ft pen at night and when we're not home and her pads are in a holder but she attacks the spots she PEED b/c they are easier to destroy!!
Last night we moved her whole pen to the spot she keeps going on and now this morning she had 4 accidents where her pads USED to be. i give up! We're trying.

i feel so terrible crating her - i know i guess i will have to

I use 2 , 1 gallon water bottles to hold mine down. If there is chewing of them going on I"ll use "Bitter Apple" to deter them. Also make sure she has enough of other things to keep her busy. Once she's has peed on one leave it there only remove stool. The already soiled area will bring her back. Good Luck

I am no expert. My pup is far from well trained.

I pour about 1/4 cup of water onto the middle of a new pad when I put it down. I think just the fact that it's wet often helps my pup pee.

And - when my pup first gets up in the morning - I put him in the laundry room (where his pad and a bed are) - and leave him there for a while. Because he just got up - he will usually pee and poop after a few minutes. (And, he doesn't whine or cry for 10 or 15 minutes after I put him there in the morning.)

Good luck!

Wow I ran across your post by chance and this is EXACTLY what my little Bella is doing....and no matter if I have the pads with the adhesive tape or put something to hold them down ....she tears them to shreds!!!! and poops next to them. Not all of the time mind you. Sometimes she is great and poops and pees on them. I praise her like crazy when she does too...and she gets soooo excited and jumps up and down and does this little flips and all is just so wonderful...and then the next time she goes, she goes on the floor! ahhhhhhh, I guess I just dont get it.

Confused Frustrated too!!!

I'm a little frustrated too!!! Chloe just turned 3 months on the 7th of Feb. and I'm wondering if she'll ever be potty trained...50% of the time she goes outside and 50% inside...I know they say it's either all or nothing but I'm not sure how to get her to go outside 100% of the time...sometimes she'll even go outside and then we go inside and she'll potty there too...how much can one little dog produce!!! Lol

Hey there...I've been there and I have one suggestion. THere is a bottled scent (I wish I remember the brand name...but it's at every pet store)..it puts off the scent that this is the place to pee. Drop it on the pad and make her smell it. My guy was peeing on my bed! this worked, actually one of the only things that did! Make sure you are also using a natures miracle type product to REALLY get rid of the smell from where she has pee'd. She'll keep going there if she can smell it. I had to keep my guy on a leash for a while too...out of the crate and DIRECTLY outside...no pee breaks!
