Exclamation eight month old crazy yorkie

i have a 8 month old yorkie...i had him since he was 2 months old..and he was the sweetest however he has issues now and im sure i play a bid role in it as well. he barks like crazy when i put him in the kennel..he still pees and poops around the house. even tho we let him out to do his business outside but he still goes in the bathroom. now when we take him outside he just runs across the street to the neighbors house and he never listens. we call his name, but he never comes back, so we have to run to him, get his attention and then run back to the house. he barks and growls at other dogs..and he never listens anymore. its hard for us to comb him out as well because he hates it..so i need some advice...

OK To me it sounds like you need to have way more disapline with him.
When you put him in the kennel.. are you leaving? is he going to bed?? Does he have run of the house? You need to watch hin 24/7 if he isnt potty trained yet. He is only 8 mo so I highly doubt he is potty trained. Dont let him outside without a leash and harness on, something like that can go wrong really fast esp with crossing a street??? thats not good. If he doesnt listen to you.. why would you let him off leash in your front yard? Does he ever get to play with other dogs? dog parks? walks? anything? Sounds like you need a lot of help with him. You came to the right place. I hope you take it all in and really work with him. He will get better, with everything it takes time and effort

Yorkie's have minds of there own....you need to keep him on a harness and a leash letting him know there is fun time and potty time....when it is time to go potty let him see you get a treat (it can be like a 1/4 of a regular size treat) tell him "go potty get a treat", say that over and over to him like you are really excited that this is going to be fun. Then take him out walk him as soon as he is finished his business give him the treat.

Crate-same thing make that crate the most amazing place you have ever seen.....start out the same way as above, small piece of treat and just say go to your crate, go to your crate, let him smell the treat and kind of walk him inside it with the treat or even have one on the inside and as soon as he goes in praise him.....once in the crate you need to catch him being good/quite and praise/reward with a treat.......when he is barking as long as you know everything is ok you need to ignore him, until he gets quite again and treat/praise....they are soooo smart it will only take a few times to LOVE that crate....hmmm crate =love/praise and yummy treats.

Allowing your Yorkie to run across the street, or anywhere else outside your fenced yard, is an accident waiting to happen. Please don't let him do that anymore. He should be wearing a harness and put him on a leash when you take him outside a fenced area. You just never know when a car might be coming and he could get hit when he runs in the street, or another dog could attack him.

Default Yorkies with attitude

I have a Morkie who has her mothers Yorkie attitude. Belle would like to believe she is in charge of the household. She got out once and ran down the street, my husband and I almost had heart attacks. For the potty training I use pee pads inside. Belle will go potty outside if we go for a walk but inside she has her pee pads and was 95% trained by the time she was 6 months. You do need to watch your puppy all the time. I put Belle's harness and leash on when she was smaller and attatched it to my jeans. She had to go where ever I did. she learned to stay close to me except when I'm sitting and she can play ball and run around. Please do not ever let you puppy outside without a leash, they are so small people in cars can't see them. You have to be firm with puppies to let them know you are the alpha, they take every inch you give. Good luck, be firm but patient.
