Default I need help with my little whinner

I am the proud parent of a wonderful year old male that I consider to be my kid. He is playfull and loving all the time, but lately for the past month or so he seems to be whinning all the time. It dosent' matter what you do he whines at you. And if you don't pay attention to him right away if your busy doing something else then he does what I like to call "the high pitched kennel bark''. We can't seem to understand why all of a sudden he is acting like this.
He does it even if your holding him in your lap and petting him.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what we could do or not do to get him to stop ?

Normally, I'd just say that he wants more exercise. Yorkies are not lap dogs. But if you've owned him (or her) for a year, you would have noticed that before now. How long have you owned the pup?

I have this problem occasionally. I am raising 2 at once. Mandy is a little bit of a barker. She is older and Jack is learing from her. If I take one of them outside without the other they bark. If I walk out the front door to take the garbage out she barks. If its the back she doesnt. Go figure. I wish I had an answer for you. All I can say is the best I heard is to ignore them Because i heard they will take any attention whether its postive or negative. I use the spray bottle if she barks and I say no barking. Its ironic that while i was typing this the neighbor dog was barking and she started also. I threatented to use the water but didnt. I dont want to spray her to much because she will get used to it. Good luck

Rose still a little whine bag

actually i have used the water bottle and that stops for a couple of minutes.
And like so many other dogs if we walk onto the front porch for a second he starts whinning and barking like we are never coming back.
Like right now.. my husband just left and he is running around whinning, jumping on the couch, running to the door to sniff and still whinning.

Aside from putting him in the carrier or kennel when he does it i'm not sure what else to do but spray him with water.

We have had him for a little over a year. He gets plenty of exercise inside since our yard isn't fenced in. And we take him for little walks .

I have a 1 1/2 year old girl who does this when she wants me to play with her, specially. My tiny girl, who is 1 does not, she just looks at me with this pleading look in her eyes. Chloe's timing is great, just let me sit down and try to read something. I ask her if she has to potty and if that doesn't work, I say "show me" and she'll go get a toy and drop it at my feet. For my Chloe, just walking isn't enough exercise, we have to play tug of war, chase, fetch or something to get some of her energy down. I doubt Lacey would care if she ever got off my lap. Yorkies can be very demanding that way.
