Still Peeing Inside

Parker is 4 months old now.

Well Parker seems to be improving with going Poo inside only, we have crated him against the puppy door to a pen, he goes outside to Poo but when we bring him in, even it has been an hour he pees on the kitchen floor. Last night I had him outside for over an hour playing walking etc. (he had eaten and drank before we played). Well within minutes of being inside he went to the kitchen squatted and peed. I am at a loss.

Another problem is that he gets excited and leaks a bit when he comes in or one of us gets home from work and he is inside the house playing. Any advice on this, will it stop when we get him neutered?

Welcome to the club. Kayla is 10mo. I am ashamed to say and still not house broke. She will go out the doggie door and come right back in and tee tee. She also tee tees when we come home. The minute you walk through the door she squats and tee tees. Ugh!! I have tried everything.

My Brutis is 4mos. too and can not hold it very long. It seems to be common in Yorkies. I would keep him out of the kitchen and clean that spot really well with vinager. He might still be able to smell his previous pee. Brutis uses a potty box and out side. When he gets to be a few mos. older I will try to switch to just out side.

yep this club is a big one! My Ozzy has fogotten how to pee on the pad. His memory lapse started about 3 weeks ago. Before then he was 90% potty trained. He is 6 months today. We have been back to square 1 bringing him to the pad or out every 3-4 hours and watching him like a hawk. He had 1 accident yesterday but did go to the pad on his own and peed once there. So that is progress We keep trying! He gets neutered tomorrow but I'm not sure this will help.

My little guy is 7 mos. tomorrow and he still can't be trusted without someone watching. If he does potty in the house, he knows its wrong so he sits under the table with the I'm sorry face, as soon as i see that i know to start looking around and sure enough! He is lucky he's cute, that's what i tell him.

I feel your pain Chooie is 9 months and he still has "accidents". I follow all the rules, I take him out as soon as I get home and after he eats..... HE does well and goes to the door, but it seems the more space I give him he tends to forget where the door is.....(if you know what I mean). I dont know what to do it's so fustrating some days. My carpet is trashed. I already bought a carpet shampoo machine, because I'm paranoid that the house will smell. I scold him and raise my voice and if I can't him in the act I sweep him up and out the door he goes......But these little guys a sneaky. If I am watching TV he will go to the kitchen and pee there when I'm not looking????? Does it ever get better ...IDK?

Well we are still trying, i am not sure if i should do the pee pads inside and slowly move it out. He knows to poo outside and even used the doggie door on his own. (one accident of poo on the porch). We started obedience training tonight and the trainer said that he is making progress, i guess I am just impatient.

Max did poo outside but would not pee outside. We trained him on puppy pads first and then moved the puppy pads outside. It took 6 months of consistency and a great deal of patience. I would take him outside every 30 minutes and just so you know I'm on a third floor apartment. It was so frustrating but when he would finally pee outside I would reward him and let him know it was the best thing ever! Also, everyone let me know that I had lost weight. All thanks to my lil' baby. Max would also pee when I came home. I was asked by a trainer how I act when I come home and see Max and I told him I would be excited to see him so he said I was making Max so excited he would pee. Here's the advice he gave me. Do not give him any attention if he acts so excited, only when he is calm. As difficult as it was I did it and he no longer pees when I come home, and he will sit when I get home and only if he is on all fours will he be petted. He's so cute!

My Honey goes back and forth. Sometimes she can sense her pee pad and do the dirty on it, but other times, she will pee where she wants. She sleeps in my husband and my room and has a little couch and tent. She's done a good job for a few months about getting up and peeing on the pee pad. But as of lately, she's back to peeing on our floor. We still have to watch her constantly so we can continue training her.

Yorkies are so cute and they know it. I guess they are just harder to slip back if you don't stay on them all the time. Yes I will agree sneaky, sneaky little guys. It seems once they get a year old they are really good. Or my luck has been that way. Seems like they get calmer and are pretty good. Its just getting them to that point. Once you think they have it, oops back sliding again. Sounds like you all are staying with the training and the treating them as they do it outside is the instant reward!!!! Both for you and them.

I GUESS I SHOULD BE GRATEFUL FOR THE PROGRESS WE'VE MADE IN THE LAST MONTH. GIGI IS NINE MONTHS OLD AND I AM ALWAYS WITH HER. I TAKE GIGI OUT FRONT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING AFTER REMOVING HER FROM HER CRATE AND SHE PEES ON THE FRONT LAWN. NO GRASS IN BACK ONLY STICKER SO SHE WON'T GO THERE.WHEN SHE EATS I TAKE HER OUT FOR AWHILE AND SHE WILL PEE AND POO. SHE ALWAYS COMES IN AND DRINKS SO I KNOW I HAVE TO TAKE HER OUT IN AN HOUR OR SO AND OF COURSE I HAVE TO WATCH HER FOR ANY SIGNS NEEDING TO GO. AFTER THAT MY HUSBAND TAKES HER OUT WHEN HE GOES OUT TO SMOKE AND I TAKE HER EVERY SO OFTEN. BUT SHE STILL HAS SOME ACCIDENTS ON THE CARPET ANYWAYS. I'VE NEVER HAD A SMALL DOG BEFORE SO I THINK THESE GUYS ARE STUBBORN AND WILL ONLY LEARN WITH CONSISTANCY. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO IN THE WINTER THOUGH BECAUSE SHE WON'T USE THE WEE WEE PADS AND WHEN THE LAWN IS WET SHE WON'T GET ON IT AT ALL. FINALLY WHEN WE GO SOMEWHERE... SHE WAITS TO GO UNTIL WE GET HOME. I WORRY SHE WILL GIVE HERSELF AN INFECTION DOING THIS?
