Default Playing with his pee pad

So, my little Barnaby has taken to playing with his pee pad. Guess I should fasten it down, somehow! Any ideas on how to inhibit his desire to play with it though?

Thanks!

I bought washable pee pads from Little Bit (a YT member) and they are awesome. The disposables worked okay until my two learned how to shred them Now they just do their business on them, or occasionally lay on them but no playing with them. They also save you quite a bit of money! Good luck!

i have a hard plastic shoe mat/tray, and i clip the pee pad down on both sides using binder clips. it works really well cuz the pee doesn't soak through to the floor and the tray is too big to play with

I have had to tape them to the floor because Ringo LOVES to drag them around and play with them. The first time I did it though he growled at them for like 5 minutes after trying to get them to move

I 100% agree! I bought two pads from the same person and they are FANTASTIC! Renji was fine until about 10 months old. Then all the sudden, he discovered the real reason pee pads existed: to shred them to death! It wasn't a boredom thing, it was an oh my, look what you can do with these? I never knew that before! sort of thing. Ever since I got my new washable pads I've saved money, don't have to come home to shredded pads, and he doesn't play with them at all. Plus, they look so much more discreet!

Thanks for your kind words KimluvsLexie and Missashlee28! They are less likely to be chewed on and shredded, but I must admit I did have one puppy that somehow got part of it turned over and chewed a hole in the back! But that was the only time that happened.

You know what? That pad still gets used every week and it has yet to leak, I guess 'cause there is plenty of stuff to absorb the pee and so doesn't make it to the bottom and also because it is kind of near an edge and I put that edge next to the wall.

Well the other day I left the house for a couple hours and left zoey in the bathroom. I placed a pee pad, food, water, and toy there w/ her.
/then when I got home I walked in and I couldnt find the pee pad anywhere!
I thoguht he must have played w/ it and pushed it under somewhere or idk. Then i looked in this bag and there was a pee pad and i was so confused? I thought maybe someone put it in there but i odnt think anyone was home. I guess somehow he played w/ it and got it in this tote/bag. lol

There is a pee pad company that makes puppy pads with adhesive strips on the back so you can just peel the paper off and stick them to I guess anything except carpet. When my Pookie started dragging them all over the house I took them away. Now without the pads, he just holds it until he can go outside. Those things were just enabling him to pee inside!

The best thing that worked for Abby was a tray I got at Petsmart. It was kind of expensive, but it works great and fastens the pad in place. She can't shred it that way - you might want to try it.

My pee pads have sticky strips on the back so they don't move. I used to buy the ones without the sticky because they were cheaper, but he would drag them and move them. Since I got the sticky ones he hasn't done that again.

I have both the washable pad from Lil Bit and the plastic holder for the pads. It seems to do the trick on both.

They usually resort to tearing the pads up if they are bored and don't have enough time outside or going for walks or have some nice beef femur bones to chew on.
