Is it possible for dogs to potty out of anger of you leaving?

We got her about 1 week 1/2 ago, she is almost 3 years old. We were told she was potty trained, but apparently not. Molly, our yorkie, pretty much takes only to me, I am the primary care giver and attention giver. My boyfriend and I are on a very specific schedules for work. I let her out, right before I leave and he is getting up, she does her business and then I leave molly with him. It seems to be everytime I have left, she has an accident!!! It is frusturating. We had the thought that she might be angry with me for leaving her. Any thoughts???

well first... she has not been there very long at all... so she still needs to adjust... that will come with time. Also i'm not sure dogs feel anger.... they can be upset.... anxious.... sad.... but i don't think anger, like you and i experience anger, is part of their emotions. And even if they did expeirence anger, i don't think they are vindictive. I think she is just confused and perhaps very upset that you are leaving.. and thus goes to the bathroom. Give the girl some time. Sounds like she really loves her mommy

Dogs are quite different then peoplein that area...they do not seek revenge or do things out of spike...they can become anxious and stressed when you leave..and that makes the bowels move....nerves...! Have you ever been upset and had to run to the bathroom...!! LOL

I agree with yorkierose (she knows everything in my book ) She might be feeling anxious and that makes her go potty. Poor girl. Just make a big deal out of the times she does it right and give her a nice treat and totally ignore the accidents as hard as that is at times.

Oh I have seen Bella potty 3 times out of anger!!!!!!
once was on my couch!!!!!
she waited until the door opened and stood up and let it loose!!
we cant all leave at the same time

I remember the time my parents moved in with us and took over our son's room...Harlee pooped in there 2 days in a row.... As if to claim her territory... And never did it again !!! Good girl Harlee !!!!

Carlos does this everyonce in a while and it happened last night. We came home from work and we were home for 2 hours and put a fresh pee pad down before we left. When I came home he peeed on the hallway floor. I think he did it because he was mad we left him at home.

The little one needs more time to adjust to your home .
