Has anyone ever used a Scat Matt??
Bella is no longer allowed on my couch!

Three times she has peed on it !
If we all are away from the house and she isnt able to go, she waits on the couch until we walk in and then pees.
Luckily I have suede so it doesnt seep in to the cushion but she is ruining my new couch!
I flew out of town this weekend to see my new grand nephew. When I can home my husband was steaming mad.
I have researched some products, but was wondering if they really worked.
the matt is laid across the couch and an alarm goes off when it senses vibration.
OF COURSE I AM OPEN TO ANY OTHER TRAINING IDEAS TO KEEP HER OFF THE COUCH WHILE WE ARE GONE ALSO!!!
I know she does this because she is mad because she goes out via her doggie door all day long. she never pottys on the floor!!!

My SIL used them with her old cat, that pee'd on the couch. It was the one that would give them a shock, equivalent to a static shock. It kept the cats away, until they figured out how to maneuver around where the pad wasn't. Before that the kitten got shocked, and they found her one day smacking the power box

Now she is an adult cat, you can put the pad down and not even turn it on and she will stay away.

YOU are right i just watch a video. I am not sure this will be as effective as an alarm with my Bella. the search continues...

Anyone else have any bright ideas??

What about keeping her confined some way while you are gone? An ex-pen, maybe?

I have the same problem with one of mine and there is no way I would leave her out while I was gone. I'd have to replace my couches!

I would be interested in hearing other suggestions, too.

I have a scat mat.

It is highly effective. It feels like a static shock. It's not a real bad zap. I stepped on it a few times when it was on the floor. Chloe kept getting on the coffee table, and I kid you not, one time, she left a turd on there!

(I think she'd been up there trying to get the ziploc bag of bows, and heard me coming down stairs, and anticipated the clapping hands and "GET DOWN!", got scared and pooped on the way down.)

So we put a scat mat on the coffee table, and I kid you not, after getting on it ONCE, she never got up there again!

THe only thing is this: These dogs are very smart. I suggest you cover the mat with a blanket on the couch or a thin sheet and change them up so it looks different each time. Never let them see the actual mat because when they do, they recognize it and know it is the mat that zaps them and not just being on the couch. Then when they don't see the mat, they'll jump on the couch.
