I Am DESPERATE!!! Starting Over with Potty Training?

I have had Bella for a few months now. She is 6 months old. When I got her at 10 weeks, she would go potty on her wee-wee pads 99% of the time. I thought...wow, what a smart little girl .

Now, my entire house has turned into her bathroom!!!

I think it is my fault because I spoiled her, and let her have too much freedom.

Tell me you guys, did I ruin her????? Is there hope??????

My dilemas are that I work full time, and wanted to have her just trained on the pee pads. She is gated in the kitchen when I am at work and at bed time. After she potties when I get home she is allowed free roam of the house. We are also moving out of NY to NC in about 6 weeks, so I need some help fast. I don't want her ruining my new carpets in NC!

So, I am desperate. I need all of you smart YTers help, experience, and guidance.

I need help too! My 10 month old male, which I got at 6 months old is peeing all over my house. He thinks the whole house is his bathroom. Can this be fixed?

I can sympathize because I've been going through this with my puppies. Mindy is now 9 months and is finally trained 100% on the pee pads. I think what finally did it for her was when I started putting a diaper on her. She sure didn't like that so I gave her another chance and she is doing great. Now I watch them like a hawk when they are out and about and they spend most of their time in their x pen. Now Bear is 6 months and still a bugger. I think a lot of it is time and maturity on their part. Mindy is fixed and Bear isn't yet. I'm hoping getting Bear fixed will make all the difference with him. Just be patient and keep them confined when you aren't watching them. Good luck to you both.

Almost forgot.....lots of praise when you see them go on the pee pads. Makes a big difference too.

i got a yorkie a couple weeks ago and im having trouble to! Playmate thinks our whole entire home is his bathroom and its to cold to take him outside right now we have the puppy pads so he goes 60% of the time on that I need help am i doing it rong also?
Maybe it will be a new start in north carolina just wait and see what happends good luck!
PS.Yorkies are our babies we are suppose to pamper and spoil them all the time so i dont think thats the problem!

Hi. Dolce is 5 months old and doing really well! I have learned the key is limited space and patience. We started out in an exercise pen when that was 100% we went to the whole kitchen.......She is still limited to the kitchen with but comes into the living room to play with us. That time is limited too and then walk her from there to where her pee pad is in the kitchen. I have found that the pee pad has to stay in one spot...moving it around confuses her. Start in small limited places and gradually increase her freedom. If there is an accident go back to a small space. Don't get discouraged by setbacks and have patience. Dolce is doing very well and she has not had any accidents when she comes in the living room.

We are in the process of moving and plan on getting new carpet. Pippin is 5 and a half months old and not potty trained. I take him outside and praise him when he goes, but sometimes he'll come back in the house and 10 mintues later tinkle again. I have pee pads in his pen when we are gone but he doesn't always use those. What kind of diapers did you use? I was at the pet store and couldn't decide which ones to get. They had some with liners and some without.

I'd go back to training 101. If you have to crate her until she gets the hint then do it. I wouldn't want my carpets ruined either. Maybe you can try keeping her in the kitchen and making a big fuss over her when she goes on her pads, and put her on the pads when she goes somewhere she's not suppose to.

I have a 4 month old, i have had him since 8 weeks, still not potty trained i tried pads, didn't work well, i tried diapers, it was a mess to clean up, he had to get bathed every time, now i'm trying outside and that isn't going great, so sorry, but i have no good advise, just sharing to let you know you're not alone.

Teddy Coco is 3 months old and I've had him for just over a month. My fiance and I purchased the Purina "SecondNature" puppy litter box. Teddy immediately attacked the litter and tried to eat it so now the litter box is sitting in our kitchen without any litter in it.

We find that after he goes potty in the litter box if we clean everything but just a little drop of urine it encourages Teddy to go again the next time. He is not 100% trained yet (far from it, unfortunately!) but at this point we can put him in the litter box and he'll go potty.

We of course reward him with a ridiculous amount of cheering, hugs, kisses, and a doggie treat.

I'll keep you updated on whether or not "SecondNature" is a success!

I need help as well. I'm trying to train Harley to go outside. I'm using the crate to train him. He does fine with the urine part, but the pooping part he isn't getting. My husband says he will never get it. I've ordered one of the soft harnesses and picked up some special treats just to use for training purposes. I try to watch him and catch. When I see him making his circles, I scoop him up and take him outside. I think my problem is that I don't have him on a leash outside. So my plan is this: When the soft harness arrives, I'll only take him outside to pee and poop on the leash. When he does his thing, I'll give him a treat and either bring him back inside or let him off the leash. What is your opinion of my plan? By the way, he is 8 months old now and the breeder let him poop on the concrete!
