| Prayers please This afternoon , I went for my appointment with the 2 lung specialists . They told me that I have generalized cancer , needless to say that I have been in a state of shock during all day . I'll have to have chemo and radiation just to ease the pain because they said it is not curable . |

| So sorry to hear your new's, Will be keeping you in my prayer's asking asking God for a miracle. Did they mention doing any surgery or is it not localized? The reason I asked is my sister had some kind of bowel cancer that started in her appendix. First they thought her appendix had burst until they got the result's back saying she had cancer. Had another surgery two week's after the first they took a lot of her bowel's out plus nine lymoph node's, when the test from that came back seven of the nine were cancerous and there was no cure. She opted not to have chemo or radiation because they told her it would not work. She asked what they would do with the kind of cancer she has, Was told when it appear's they would have to keep cutting it out that was 7 year's ago. She goes for a test every year and so far they have not found any more cancer. Only ill affect so far is she has loose stool's all the time.. Sorry to make this so long but wanted you to know miracles do happen so please keep the faith. Cancer run's easily in my family I have lost 4 other sister's in the last ten year's to this diease each one had a different kind. Will put you on our prayer list at my church this coming Sunday. Praying for you daily. Anne/Luci. |

| Dear sweet Gilles, I am heartbroken to hear your latest medical reports. Like others, I do believe that medical miracles happen and I'm praying for one to heal you. Also praying for relief from pain and peace of mind. |

| What terrible news. No doubt you are in shock and dazed in disbelief. Take a day or two or four to gather yourself, grieve, feel awful, get angry and then you'll have to fight for your life yourself, as it doesn't sound as if your specialists gave you many options available to them. But a cure might be out there! We hear of them frequently - yes, even in incurable cancers. Gather your family and friends and see who is with you and who will be willing to go to bat for you and try to work very hard and inventively find the very best, latest and cutting edge treatments available for you. First, I'd call those specialists and tell them you would like them to help you get well, you won't settle for "incurable" and let them know you expect as doctors who want to heal patients to work together and through their hospital's outreach program to try to get you into a program funded by a government or corporate grant to have treatment at one of the cutting edge cancer centers where you could try see if you are a candidate for gene therapy treatment to attack or change the cancer's own DNA or change the characteristics of the malignant cells to those of a healthy cell or kill off the bad cells - whatever method they might consider the most effective in your case. You hear of absolute miracles in the field of inoperable, incurable cancer of the lungs now days and there is no reason you couldn't try to become a candidate for one of those programs, is there? Maybe you or a close family member who will act as your patient advocate could call the Canadian Cancer Society, talk with a counselor and see what is available for you in the way of the gene treatment programs. It sometimes takes major pushing, prodding and nagging and becoming a professional nudge but the loudly squeaking, ever-noisy, never still, always rolling forward wheel gets the oil and much of the attention! Try making some noise and seeing what type of genetic treatment is out there and find a way to get to it. There are pilots who fly patients for cancer treatments here and there and all kinds of things can happen when people put their heads together to help an "incurable" cancer patient get treatment they might not otherwise have access to. Cancer Treatment Centers of America often show commercials about their genetic treatment programs. Here is a link to read and consider: Genomic Tumor Assessment | CTCA I'm sure M. D. Anderson and many Canadian, New York Hospitals also offer genetic tumor assessment and treatment for those who are candidates for this type of treatment or even other modalities of treatments that are not widely known. It's worth checking these things out as your doctors don't seem to be offering a lot of hope. I'll for sure be praying for you every day. Don't give up though. Fight to live.
