| My Daughter is Donating a Kidney to her Friend... My Daughter, Kelly, is donating a kidney to her friend Patty who is in kidney failure due to Lupus. Patty was diagnosed 17 years ago and she was told that she would need a kidney transplant someday. Kelly & Patty were college roommates & when Patty was recently put on the transplant list Kelly called U of M Medical Center in Ann Arbor to inquire about being her donor. She turned out to be her best match. Patty has an 11 yr old son and Kelly wants to give her every chance she can to watch him grow up. The transplant is scheduled for July 3rd & we are going to U of M in Ann Arbor this Thursday for their final blood draws and pre-registration. They are hoping to be in the same room after the surgery so their husbands and I can be with them. She did not want me to ask for prayers and good thoughts on Facebook because she feels that she's just doing what is right, so I am asking for them here...for Kelly and for Patty. My daughter is an amazing young woman and I am so proud of her. Peace to all...

| What a special woman, your daughter is. That is so awesome beyond awesomeness!! I am such an advocate for organ donation and just think - this is even better! A living donor! For her friend, no less. Amazing how God made her the perfect match, isn't it? He is so amazing to me with the things He does! Please tell your daughter that she is a true hero. An angel on earth. That is what an organ donor is. Plain and simple. You don't know me, but please give your daughter a big hug from this "stranger" from Alabama. I have tears in my eyes as I type this...she is so special. Prayers going up to our Father that the surgery goes well, that He guides those surgeons' hands, and that both donor and recipient make full and speedy recoveries. Amen!

YT 2000 Club Member | This made me cry with tears of joy. What a wonderful person you must be to raise such a giving/compassionate daughter. Often when someone does something wrong, people start looking at the parents for the reason. Well, lets look look back to the parents here. KUDOS to YOU for raising such a daughter, I can only imagine how proud you are of her. I pray your daughters friend and your daughters surgery goes well and pray for each a speedy recovery. I also pray for comfort and strength for you and the family and friends.

| Thoughts and prayers for your daughter and her friend I still don't know which is harder - being the patient or the family member in the waiting room. What a selfless daughter you have. Her concerns are for everyone else and not for herself. I have several friends giving and receiving transplanted organs. It is just as difficult for the donor as it is for the recipient. The good news is this procedure is becoming so common now that the success and full recovery is very high. All the best to you and your daughter. My prayers will include your daughter for a speedy recovery and for Mom because I know you will be worried until you see her in recovery - it is just how Mom's are! |

| I can scarcely imagine a more loving and selfless thing to do. You raised a beautiful, loving, giving person who is one in 10 million!!! God bless your sweet daughter and her best friend as they go through this live-saving procedure together and may He keep them both in His Hand. I'll be praying for both women.
