| Brain Surgery Tomorrow Tomorrow is our son, Corey's, 2nd brain surgery, to remove more damaged tissue and hopefully stop the 15 seizures a day. Without this surgery, the damaged area has been corrupting more and more of his healthy brain. The drs. at John's Hopkins say this is Corey's very last shot, as we are at the end of the road, having exhausted all other treatment options. Though the odds aren't the greatest (60%), and the side effects of this surgery are unknown, we are prepared to deal with whatever ramifications and deficits may come his way. The greatest desire of this mom's heart is for her son to be healed both spiritually and physically, healthy and living a normal, independent life. I am taking my request boldly before the throne, knowing that my God can do all things. I will not allow fear or darkness to take a foothold in places where it does not belong, and my faith will not be shaken, regardless of the outcome that tomorrow brings. I am asking you, my dear YT friends, for prayer. George and I need prayer for wisdom and discernment as we advocate for our son, and strength as the storm rages around us. We want to lift up the doctors and staff. We need prayer for peace in Corey's heart (he's so scared), and freedom from pain. It's been a very long road, (23 years). Will you please stand in faith with us, and help us storm the heavens? Love and thanks to you all. I promise to update. Still trusting... Still believing...

| The battles that are waged all around us that we never are aware of.....You and your husband and your precious son are in my prayers and my heart and my thoughts, as you go forward on this unknown path. Go forward, boldly, in The Light, in Faith, knowing He will be there for you and your family, especially Corey. I will STEADFASTLY pray for Wisdom for the doctors and staff, that He guides their hands and hearts in this battle, and for a calming Peace that only He can bring to Corey's worried and fearful heart...and for you and your husband, Trust, Enlightenment, Knowledge, and Strength, as you face so much uncertainly and bewilderment, and even doubt. Put it all in His Hands, and stand still and watch the Miracle happen with your precious boy....In Jesus name we call out loud, and pray! SO BE IT AS YOU PROMISED US LORD!! AMEN!!! |

| Oh Kim, you will certainly have all my prayers for Corey. JHopkins is the best place he could be. I have read many good reports of these kinds of surgeries.... somehow after the bad parts are removed, the good parts of the brain take over. A short story: Last year I fell asleep, pinching and damaging the nerve in my arm to the point from the elbow down I had no use of it or my right hand. Of course, I am right handed. Somehow, just after a few weeks, I was doing everything I needed to do with my left hand. I was shocked at how much my left hand could do, and improved with practice. It took 2-3 months to regain the use of my right arm and hand. Just saying, the brain is truly an amazing thing. I have complete and total faith that Corey will do fine. My DD has seizures, but medication is controlling hers for the most part. I will pray for Corey and his doctors, and Mom and Dad too. Call me anytime.... I am here for you!

| Kim, I will keep your precious Corey in my thoughts and prayers. Praying for strength and comfort for Corey and for you and George. I will also say prayers for the medical team that will be taking care of Corey - that they will have ready recollection of the skills they have learned and will be able to utilize them with God's guiding hands to heal Corey. |

| Kim I hear the faith in your words. God is wonderful. I know that he is seeing your obedience and will give you all strength. The storms rage but He is stronger. Your son and family as well as the doctors and caregivers are in my prayers. May God lift all of you up and guide the surgeons hands through all this. Just remember this, HE CAN MOVE MOUTAINS! Hugs to you.

| Wow, thank you all. I am sitting here in tears. Your words have touched my heart so much. Corey has mesial temporal lobe sclerosis epilepsy. It was caused by illness and high fever after his DPT baby shot. They removed 3 sections of brain last August, and left behind two very small damaged pieces that were too dangerous to take. Though there was nothing to feed them, the tiny, damaged pieces have built new neuropathways, like tentacles, to healthy brain (like Kathy- kjc) was saying. Unfortunately, they then began to corrupt the healthy brain and cause multiple seizures in the healthy brain. Though dangerous, drs. will remove the 2 sm. damaged parts tomorrow. The million dollar question is whether or not the neuropathways will quiet down or will they continue to misfire without the damaged parts. The last surgery they did not quiet down, but took on a life of their own, but hopefully, this time will be different. The further drs. move into dangerous parts of the brain, the more problems can result, but we have no options at this point, as more good brain is being corrupted each day. Corey will be 24 on this Saturday. I am choosing to believe that this birthday is going to be the beginning of a brand new, healthy life, and a future with a career, girlfriends, driving license, and the joy of independent living, away from the watchful eyes of your parents. Thank you all for standing with me in this belief. You guys are awesome. Mamas always understand!
