| Dr. Visit to Schedule Surgery I visit with the ortho specialist tomorrow to schedule surgery. The doctor only does this type of surgery on Thursday and Friday mornings and generally is generally booked up for two weeks in advance. Please pray that Dr. Terrell will have an opening this coming Thursday or Friday. I am really starting to freak about the surgery and want to get it done before I winp out. |

| Thank you, Kristen, Michelle, Baby Girl and Tena. Here's a pic of the hardware and an animation of the way it works. :-( The Ilizarov Method I am not trying to be negative, but this is really scary. They will be sawing the "good part" of my leg in half, and then screwing things THROUGH the bone above where they break it. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | My best wishes for a successful surgery and a fast recovery. That is rather a daunting picture. But it sounds like he has lots of experience.

| Surgery countdown - 10 days 11 nights Surgery is Friday 6/24 so I have 11 days (well 10 really) to think about it. AND when I think about it I feel like throwing up. Good news is that after the stitches come out I won't have any restrictions -- I can do what I feel like doing. I can even SWIM in a swimming pool, but no lake! Now to find a pool . Boy I hope I have some good pain meds (this procedure is bitchy painful) so I can get back to my little vegetable garden. The first big rush of tomatoes should be coming in just about the time I go in for surgery..... my son will have to make his poor sick mama some spaghetti sauce from the home grown romas. |

| Well, look at the bright side. In 11 days it will be over with!! No restrictions will help too! You will have to look for a pool for sure!! We will all pray that you have tolerance to any pain and that you recover very quickly. Tell your son to get busy! And we expect perfect spaghetti sauce for momma!

| It's awful that you have to go through that again. I'm sure they'll have pain medication for you that will be equal to your pain. It does sound good that after you get the stitches out that you will be free to do what you want. I hope you heal quickly and will feel like doing all of those things. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery on the 24th.

| Thanks everyone. I need some ideas about how to decorate this very ugly and intimidating piece of hardware. I'm thinking about adding some charms and/or perhaps some funky lace/fringe that I can attach with velcro. |
