| Prayer Request for Lolita's spay Lolita has to be at the vet in the morning (5/22/09) between 8-8:15am to get spayed. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers tonight and tomorrow. I think Lolo is picking up on me being so concerned because she's a little jumpy tonight so I'm trying to calm my nerves. We are going to sleep on the couch tonight and cuddle up before the big day tomorrow. She probably wont look like it after tomorrow but I gave her a bath tonight just to get her feeling as fresh as possible before her appointment. She's such a pretty little girl and a sweetheart to boot. She will just lay in my lap now and let me groom her.

| Be safe little one. You've got a good mommy who is doing what is best for you. Now give mommy an extra hug, she's worried.

| I am praying that little Lolo will do well with her surgery today ... I'm sure she will. I know how worried you must be ... I sat and held Toto for three days after her spay! She did much better than Patrick and I did! Please give her hugs for us!

| I just got off the phone with the vets office and Charlene giving her an update on what I know so far. They said Lolo did fine during the surgery but she hasn't woken up yet. They said they did have to pull a few teeth but I don't know how many. I also don't know about the heartworm test yet. I will find out more when I pick her up later and get to talk to the vet. I have really been on edge and wont feel better until I get to pick her up. I didn't want to leave the vets office this morning. I actually sat in the parking lot for a while before I could make myself leave and I haven't put my phone down waiting for the vets office to call. I'm so over protective.

I didn't want to leave Toto either ... our vet was 45 minutes away. I couldn't bear the thought of the empty house so I drove around [near the vets office] and after awhile stopped at Wal-Mart and wandered around until the first update from our vet. I just had to be near her. Jen, she will be fine! God bless you!

Thank goodness I only live about 10 minutes away from the vets office. I need to go to town but I wont. It's a 30 minute drive one way and I don't want to get that far away. (I live in a rural community so there is going to town which is a 10 minute drive and then there is going to TOWN which is a 30 minute drive.) I had to do something to distract myself so I went out and mowed grass for about an hour and a half. I will mow the rest of the yard later this evening or tomorrow. I'm just trying to keep my mind busy so I will stop eating everything in the house. It sounds like we kind of dealt with it in the same way only with different distractions. lol Thank you for making me feel better about the way I'm handeling it. Much love Bettye. Your such a sweetheart and a godsend.

| Ahhhhh, thank you! I pray that by now you have her back home for the pampering to begin! Sounds like you did good distracting yourself during the wait. Another thing that Toto did [or didn't do] ... she would hardly eat anything for a couple of days. She just wanted to stay on my lap and snuggle and sleep. Our vet said that was perfectly OK, just so she drank and peed. God bless you and I hope you can sleep tonight!

| Lolo is home again thank goodness and doing fine so far. She was so happy to see me and is sticking to me like glue. She had to have 8 teeth removed but the vet says she should be able to eat kibble again. For a few days she will be getting soft food and then she can work back towards eating kibble and she how she does. She hasn't eaten yet so I'm concerned about that but I checked her gums and they look fine. I got her to take a little bit of nutri cal just in case though. Her teeth look much better since they have been cleaned but I'm sure she's pretty sore with having 8 teeth pulled. She can't go up/down stairs or jump so we have temporarily disabled the pet steps so she wont be tempted. She has an antibiotic that she is supposed to take twice a day for the next week and pain meds for the next several days just in case. Her pre-op blood work came back good and she tested negative for heartworms. Yeah! Last time at the vet her weight was up to 3lbs 11oz and today she weighed in at 4lbs. Yeah again! I wonder how much she will lose now. She can't have a bath for the next 10 days. She looked so pretty this morning and understandably looked a bit of a mess when I picked her up. I've washed her up as best I can and groomed her just a bit to help her feel a bit fresh again. I totally avoided her incision area as instructed though. It's not the best of jobs but I didn't want to put her through too much so it was more like a little bit of a touch up as opposed to a full fledge cleaning and comb out. So far she is leaving her incision alone but I have small onesie's to put on her just in case. They are a little big on her but they wont rub on her and irritate her. Either way I'm going to put the onesie's on her for overnight protection. If that doesn't work I will put a cone on her as a last resort. I'm also keeping the girls away from her so she can rest and relax. I don't want the girls (okay mainly Kissy) stressing her or bothering her incision either. I'm open to any advice so if anybody has words of wisdom you would like to share I'm all ears. My nerves have settled a lot but I'm still cautiously watching her. I will probably sleep on the floor with her tonight so I can keep her close. I don't want to risk her being on the couch or bed tonight so the floor is the next best option.
