| Will you pray for 6 yr old Rose? Recovery from brain aneurysm The 6 year old daughter of 2 of my co-workers is in pediatric ICU fighting for her life. Last Tuesday night, Rose told her mom that her head hurt and then she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance & underwent emergency surgery for a brain aneurysm. A malformed blood vessel (or group of vessels) in her brain burst. Please pray for Rose she is not improving as much as the doctors had hoped. Today they did a new CAT scan - it revealed no new bleeding or other malformed blood vessels in her brain - those are good things!. But the scan revealed that Rose's brain is still swelled more than they thought it would be. Her mom & dad are taking turns at the hospital, as they have 2 older children. The hospital is excellent & has a machine that measures the oxygen getting to her brain- very few hospitals apparently have a machine of this caliber. She is still sedated, unconscious and in critical but stable condition. Her numbers, mainly the key inter-cranial pressure, have been running a little bit high today, but doctors say the ICP is within range of what they want. Ideally, the IPC wants to be around 15, but anything between 5 and 25 is acceptable. Rose is a sweet little girl she loves to dance, go to Disney World & play with her family's 2 weimaraners. Rose had beautiful dark long hair past her waist. A nurse was nice enough to help the family donate Rose's hair to Locks of Love - 20 inches worth of hair. The nurse braided some for the family to keep and is sending the rest for the company to make a wig for a cancer victim. I am praying that somehow there is still a miracle that Rose can be the same little girl. I know God has a plan for this family.

| Well she certainly gets my prayers...and I wish her all the best....she is young so if she gets thru this it's amazing how much a young child's brain can recover. I am praying for her from now on....I am in the same boat myself though pre-burst stage....having been diagnosed with an in-operable brain aneurysm myself - they say it is in a too awkward a place in my brain for surgery plus I have EDS which means my fragile tissues wont take surgery...anyway I am going to see the consultant on Thursday this week and I will be asking him what can be done by a specialist...(at least I have had 41 years)...I will ask him what would happen to a child with the same thing and see what he says...and let you know if he has anything to say about it. I am so sorry for this wee one...she must have had a fair amount of headaches for some time like me....but thankfully not being aware of what was about to happen at least.....keep us up to date... lots of love, Debra x x x x (Scotland) |

| That is so heartbreaking . When a child is sick it is so hard to see any good in the world. I will keep little Rose and her family in my prayers. I know the fear they are feeling all to well and I truly hope all the prayers they will receive bring them some comfort. Please keep us updated on Rose and her family. And Debra (HIghlandYorkies), you will be in my prayers also. I wish the best for you.

| Thank you for praying for Rose. Here's an update: the overnight nurse, was able to communicate with Rose. She could squeeze the nurse's hand on command and even nod her head in response to a couple questions. This morning, Rose squeezed her dad's hand, moved her foot and even nodded her head when asked. Those are real good signs.

| Prayers are being answered - Praise God! Rose had a good days. She's slowing being weaned off the sedatives. Very slowly to make sure she can tolerate it. Her bandages on her head are off for now. She's been very busy today. She's been moving both feet, trying to sit up, followed doctors' commands with her eyes and hands and legs. Right now, the doctors are slowing down the respirator to try to let her do some breathing on her own. They will do this slowly to make sure she can tolerate what they're doing.

| I will be praying for Rose and her family. One of my friend's mom had a brain aneurysm. She, too, collapsed on the kitchen floor. Unfortunately, no one was there at the time. Her family came home to her unconscious on the floor. She was in the hospital for a few days in a coma. Then, she died... I hope things go better for little Rose. She sounds like she's already making progress, and they caught it in time.
