Prayers for Emily Rose Emily Rose is my new Yorkie. She is 12 weeks old and today weighs only 1 lb 11 ounces. We found out yesterday that she possibly has parvo. SHe test positive for it but she just had shots last week so it could also be a false positive. She is really sick and we really could use your thoughts and prayers to get through this one. God Bless You!!

I am so sorry. I don't know how well you know your vet but I noticed you live in Arlington, Tx. which is not too far from me. I have used my vet for 16yrs. and he has pulled some back from nearly death that had Parvo. PM me if you would like to know his name and address of the animal hospital. Hope the tests are wrong and could be something else. Good luck and will say a prayer for that baby.

Friday's Update I just picked Emme up from her day at the vet and she looks 200x better than what she did when I dropped her off this morning. Let me just put it this way, she was nothing but a limp noodle this morning and I honestly thought that I would get the dreaded call today. They told me to check in after 2 and that was the longest time. When I called at 2 they told me she was still hanging in there. I was supposed to pick her up at 5:30 and I got there at 5:15. When they brought her out to me she was alert and looking. I took her in my arms and she gave me kisses like you had never seen before. We all were crying!!! No...we are still not out of the woods yet but if she continues to do well like she did today and not fall back to where she was this morning I think by Monday we will have a better chance. Your prayers are working and for that I thank you and love everyone of you!!! Here is a picture of her after we got home when she went to get a drink of water. She has both of her front legs shaved for the IV that they have to give her but she is looking GREAT!!

| I'm so sorry she is sick and I do hope she recovers. Parvo is a very deadly disease. I'll be sure to say a prayer for her.

Saturday Update Have you ever had one of those days that you don't even know your own name?? I have been so tired and stressed out that today was that day for me. After I dropped Emme off at the vet this morning, I went back to bed for 4 hours...then I picked her up at 1 and after I got back home....back to bed I went again. What a day... I'm sure you are all waiting for Emme's update and not the status of my lazy butt so here goes..... EMME IS FINE!!!! SHE HAS BEEN RELEASED AND NO MORE TRIPS TO THE VET!!! They do not feel that she had parvo....they think she had a severe bacteria infection of the digestive tract that was causing her to be so sick. Her blood work came back as negative for parvo but the snap test showed positive which is why they said it was parvo. Her improvement was to fast for it to have been parvo and I have had dogs with it that had not recovered as quickly as she has. So the first vet was right (and a lot cheaper). Last night she ate some baby food for me and held it down without any problems. When I went to bed, I put more baby food down in case she got hungry before I came back to check on her and she had already ate it. Still no vomiting or diarrhea. This morning she was bubbly, alert and looked great. I took her to the vet and told them that she ate for me and the amounts and they gave me that look like what??? She ate? When I went to pick her up at 1, I seen a bag that had her name on it and the lady at the desk said they were discharging her but that was all they could tell me. I had to go to a room and wait for them to come in and give me all the details. Apparently my little piglet was hungry and was screaming when I left so they fed her at 8:20 and she ate everything that they gave her. The vet got her blood work results back and showed negative for parvo but one of her other numbers was up so he figured she had a bacteria infection and she was dehydrated. The treatments that they give for parvo would have been the same that they would have done for this so she did get the treatments that she needed to save her life. She was sent home and I still have to give her more medicine for the next 2 weeks but she is just fine. She weights 1 lb 11 ounces today and is as feisty as she was when I first got her (maybe a little slower). Thank you everyone for all of the prayers and thoughts that you gave us during this time, you definitely helped save her!!!

Oh no I'm sorry to find out she did have parvo. I read somewhere that the blood test is not as accurate as the other test(poop) for parvo. That's great that she's keeping everything down now. I don't know know if your vet told you this about your baby, but when my Chi had parvo, the vet told me I had to get her another parvo shot within 2 weeks because if I didn't she could give it back to herself again. Hope your baby continues to improve. My Chi was really sick 2-3 days but she was fine after that. I did have to keep her away from my other babies for a month. Good luck to you & your sweet baby!
