| Groomer in Phoenix? If you know any good groomers in Phoenix, please let me know. We live in Glendale, but don't mind traveling across town for a good groomer. We were set on taking our yorkies to the nearest Petsmart, as after watching them groom a few dogs they seemed to be pretty good at what they're doing, but after reading the horrific stories on the forum, we're a bit scared now. Any help would be great. Thank you. |

| I go to a place in chandler that i really like. You just have to be very acurate on what you want. I sent my boyfriend with wookie one time and he just didn't know what he was doing, and they messed up wookie's hair. We were all really sad But i've had great luck with them otherwise. |

| What is the contact info on the groomer in Chandler? Is this a private groomer? I don't mind driving 30 minutes for a good groomer. Thank you |

| Good Groomers/Vets in Phoenix Area Hi, I live in Glendale, too, near 67th Ave and Camelback. I have 2 Yorkies, one senior (11, Toy) and one baby girl (12 weeks, Gia) I used to take Toy to this place close to my house on Bethany called Pawsitivly Purrfect Dog Grooming, but it changed owner and ever since then, no more! The place is filthy, horrible customer service, bad haircuts and on and on and on... I take him now to the Desert Sky Petsmart location. But only to one girl in particular. Her name is Jennifer. She's fast, but you have to be very specific on what you want. But I'd like to try another place as I'm not keen on Petsmart in general. Somebody mentioned a great place with Yorkie experience on Olive, I'd like that info please. Also, I'm in need of a good vet with knowledge of Yorkies. I'm stuck with the Banfield contract for another six months for my older dog and I wasn't going to take Gia there, so I took her to Dr. Day at The Glendale Animal Hospital, I wasn't impressed (to put it mildly) however with neither him or the staff, plus the location is akward to get to! I can be more specific of the reasons why I didn't like him if anybody requests it.... Don't take your baby to the Peoria Banfield clinic in Glendale on Northern!!!! They just switched Vets (again) and this Vet is worse than the last one!!! Thanks Nadia Last edited by chickendido; 05-25-2007 at 03:25 PM. |

| Whatever you do, avoid, avoid, avoid Scrubbin' Pups in Ahwatukee. Both of mine came back injured.. Pixie's scalp was burned by the clippers and Tuffy had a terrible cut on his tummy. I didn't notice the injuries until I got home but the staff didn't say a word about them nor did they apologize for it. Pixie's burn was just superficial but I had to take Tuffy to the vet because his cut was infected. Ugh, needless to say, avoid!

| Yorkie Grooming: Do it Myself I learned how to take care of Bailey myself. We only let his hair grow out for winter, but otherwise keep him somewhat on the short side. I have learned to do pretty much everything myself partly because I am frugal, but moreso because I know I will take every precaution to love and care for Bailey during the process and he trusts me. He is so good...... he is perfectly still while I do scissor cuts. I expressed his stinky butt, (yuck) but not that bad, every couple of months then bathe him immediately afterwards. He gets a bath every couple of weeks in the tub with one of those detachable shower spray heads then blow dry and nails clipped, not too short. Anyway, I enjoy doing it and he is a perfect "customer". Love from Samc and Bailey |

| I thought I'd give this thread a bump since I'm still on the hunt for a decent groomer in Phoenix... we had an appt with a mobile groomer but they canceled it suddenly on us and I just can't wait another month to have the kids groomed. I'm willing to drive just about anywhere in the valley if it's a great groomer.

| Hugs N Pups We took our two yorkies to Hug N Pups (www.hugnpups.com) on East Bell Road. The people were very nice and they did a great job. I would recommend them. |
