| Need a good groomer in Texas Can anyone in the Fort Worth, HEB, Keller area recommend a good groomer? I have heard all th horror stories and I want to make sure I find a good groomer. I want to keep my yorkies hair long so no butchering! Her hair grow so slow. Also if anyone bathes there yorkie at home what is the best product out there to make the coat shiny but not make their skin dry out?

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'm in Texas - Houston - and I haven't found a good groomer yet here - I KNOW there's one out there but it's a secret I guess - so I took to grooming mine 2 girls myself. It's not as hard as I thought it would be...for Shampoo & Conditioner - I use Chris Christensen Systems for Chanel who has LOTS of hair - and Vitacoat for little Cheri (for silky coats) and I love these products - Also Just ordered Reviva Coat from Plush Puppies - it's a leave in spray and they feel so soft after I used it - Good luck in your hunt for a groomer - I would reccomend WRITING down exactly what you want done and take it with you every time you go to the groomer -

| We're in Brenham, TX and LOVE our groomer. I too had heard all the horror stories and since getting Tatum in April 2004 (she turned a year old on Valentines Day), I have been doing all the basic stuff myself - cutting nails, trimming ears, her hiney area and paws - but finally decided she needed a good trimming. I am keeping her hair long - kinda the layery look instead of full length - and was so afraid she would get butchered. Our groomer comes to our vet 2-3 times a week and is the one I used for my poodle for 15 years. I had a long talk with her and it turns out she has owned many Yorkies over the last 30 years and knew exactly what I wanted. I was SO pleased with Tatum's haircut and am SO relieved that I didn't and won't have the problems I've heard of. Of course this doesn't help you much because I doubt you want to come all the way here but I hope you find one that does you right! As for products, we use the Chris Christensen products also and they work fabulous! I also put Infusium leave-in conditioner on her after the bath, before combing and drying. That seems to work really well for getting out any tangles. Good luck!

| The next time Sadie & Rocky need to be groomed (which I think is coming up pretty soon) we're thinking of taking the kids for a "Spa Day" together & the Moms can hang out while they're there....maybe Chloe can go too!!! The three of us could hang out. I can't remmeber the name of the place...I took her there last time & they did a really good job on her. I've got the card at home....I'll look tonight & let you know. They also have a Yorkie. It's like a little boutique in the front & a grooming salon in the back.

Im not sure she logs onto YT much so I thought I'd try to answer for her. She is located off rufe snow and mid-cities in Watauga (it might be considered North Richland Hills in that area). As far as doing discounts Im not sure but you should give her a call, thier number is listed on their website and they are super nice to talk to.
