| 3 year old Yorkie in TX needs help Hello Yorkie Friends, I received an urgent email from a gentleman in Texas (he did not specifiy exact location but I can get that). He has a 3 year old female Yorkie they do not want any more. He is considering putting her on Craigslist which I persuaded him was not the thing to do. He is looking for a rescue to help. We are Save A Yorkie Rescue but we do not cover Texas (we are in PA). If you know of a good, reputable Yorkie Rescue in Texas or a nearby state, would you please contact John Thomas at 972-941-6383 or email him at john14@teamcandj.com Only contact him if you know of a good rescuer. I wish we covered further states but are limited by the lack of willing foster homes. Without a foster home to go to, Yorkies die in shelters. Please crosspost this widely so that this Yorkie girl can find the family she needs. She has had a very hard time of it. This is her second home. She has no aggression issues and wants very much to be loved and held. If you need to reach me - please call 610-670-2183. Thank you so much for your kindness. |

| That phone number is in the Dallas area. If Yorkie Haven Rescue can't get to her, there is Paws in the City, Operation Kindness - both no kill shelters - perhaps they can hold her temporarily until a rescue group can get to her. Recycled Poms and Schippers and Pawed Squad Rescue in Abiline. I've got a whole list of local rescues on my work computer. How did he come about contacting you - all the way in Penn? My heart breaks for this little one.

| He lives in Wylie. Sadly, there are yorkies showing up every single day in shelters and as owner surrenders and the yorkie rescues cannot keep up with them. There simply are not enough foster homes. We do not have any room at present. He could try United Yorkie Rescue as I believe they now have some foster homes in this state. He was also advised to try Yorkie and Small Dog Rescue...but I do know they are as full as we are. Maybe Chris Rescue Angels? He was contacted by one of our members and suggestions for other rescues were made. He might be better off looking at all breed rescues. I do not know of any in the DFW area.

| He contacted United Yorkie Rescue originally ...to take his Yorkie but they had no foster homes (sound familiar?) at this time in Texas. They work closely with our rescue here in PA but we do not cover Texas as United Yorkie Rescue does. So the Yorkie's owner emailed me, asking for help or a referral. I thought of Yorkie Talk and hoped someone in the Texas area would be able to come up with a rescue and a foster home. It won't be easy. If only more dog lovers would foster.. we could save so many more lives. I have to call about a senior Yorkie girl who was dumped at a shelter with a kitten. They are covered in fleas and matts. I will try to pull her and find a foster home. Spread the word, on Yorkietalk and to all of your friends, relatives, on Facebook and Twitter and passenger pigeon. We need foster homes for Yorkies and it is important. Thank you for taking the time to answer my request. I do appreciate your time. |
