♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Where's the OK meetup??? I just wondered why we don't have an OK meetup??! It seems like almost every state is accounted for, except us I know there have to be a ton of Yorkies here in the middle of America....I've seen lots out and about! It would be fun to do something after the first of year--I know everyone is starting to get VERY busy! Anyone else in? We could even do OK/Northern TX/KS....I'm open to whatever! |

I think after the first of the year sounds like a good idea too--holidays are just too busy! I would say we could do it here (in Stillwater, OK) since it's northern OK, that way it wouldn't be as bad a drive from KS, but there isn't a dog park here . But, since it will be when it's cold out, maybe we should plan something indoors? I can start looking around for an indoor place, or maybe everyone would rather do it in another town? (We could always look for a place in OKC or Tulsa instead.) What does everyone think about that....and when would be a good/better time to meet up? Sometime in Jan, or would you rather wait for Feb??

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Thank you, that's very nice!! I would love some help planning it.....I suggested it, so I guess I'll be the one trying to get it together. I think the consensus is to do it after hristmas sometime (since this is such a busy time of year)....so if anyone has a preference as to when is best, please let me know! I'm sooo excited!! I cannot tell you how much Bella would love to play with "people" her own size!!! |

| I would think around the first of February or, oooh maybe a Valentine's Day meetup? If we are doing OK/TX/KS...then wouldn't OKC be about the halfway point? Whatever you need, let me know....I will do all I can to help.

I think we'd better leave Valentine's Day open for all the love birds out there....I wouldn't want anyone to be unable to come because they had plans with their significant other and wouldn't be able to get back home in time. How about Feb. 7th as a "working" date for now?? (I don't really think we need to finalize that date until the end of Dec. or the beginning of Jan., though, so everyone will have a better idea of what's on their schedules.) I know we'd like to have time to visit and let the baby's play, but be thinking about anything else we might like to have/do. I was thinking about possibly putting together little "gift bags" for those who attend, so anyone who has anything they make, etc... they'd like to give to include in those, let me know. I'm trying to think of some other ideas that are dog and owner friendly....maybe I'll try contacting someone else who has been a part of a meet up and see what all they did. Any ideas would be appreciated....and feel free to PM me if you'd rather do that than post your idea on this thread.

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | I'm thinking maybe we could do some type of T-shirt sale (that we have made up of course ), or a photographer, or something of that nature, and then donate any proceeds to OK Yorkie Rescue....OK Yorkie Rescue. Shoot, we could do T-Shirts anyway...I'd like that! And I know we'll all have cameras there snapping pics, so we wouldn't really need a photographer (unless we just want one??) What does everyone think about that? |

| That sounds great I live here in the city...I can start doing some investigating and find some furbaby friendly places and activities...I know the new dog park is awesome...but you never know what weather to expect here Here is the link to the park...I know they have special area for the lil ones PAW OK - Oklahoma City Paw Park - Dog Park I think the gift bags is a great idea! As we get closer to the date we can get an idea of how many bags we'll need.....we can even make extra bags and donate them to the ok rescue...I make snuggle blankets and would have no problem making one for everyone coming as well as some for the shelter! |
