| Looking for a good groomer in Southwest Arlington, TX area We have used Best Friends Grooming for a couple of years but stopped when they changed how they were grooming our babies. We took them to PetSmart in SW Arlington off of I-20 and Matlock, in the Highlands Shopping Center, and I've been unhappy every time. I'm looking for a groomer that will LISTEN to what I want and not do what they want to do. We have beautiful babies (in my opinion) and every time I take them to be groomed I'm upset at how they look for the first several weeks/months until they grow out. Please help! Thanks!

| My advice would be go get you a grooming book, order a good clipper from Foster& Smith, good pair of scissors and do it yourself. I will never take mine to a groomer after all the scary stories about yorkies actually dying from cage dryers. I use to groom and nowdays I could not tell you of one I would trust to treat them well. I get Kayla's nails trimmed at the vet but I am not going to do that any more. I will use a dremmel. They cut one so short on her back foot she would not even walk. THere is not really that much to do to a yorkie but brush, brush, brush. Buy good shampoo and conditioner and I say, do it yourself. Save alot of money too. |

| I spoke to a friend over the weekend whom lives in Arlington. She recommended VIP Grooming. |

| I've never heard of VIP Grooming, I'm going to look it up and give them a try. Thank you for your suggestion.

| Let me know what you think of them cause I am also having a hard time finding someone for my dogs. I have a Maltese and just got my baby Yorkie on Friday so I would be interested in who you find. I am in SW Arlington area also. |

| I will definitely post and let you know what I think about them. I won't go back to the PetSmart in the Highlands until they change some of their staff. So hopefully VIP will work so I don't have to keep putting them through the different groomers.

| If that is the same place that is on Park Row, I took my Maltese there a few weeks ago and for a 3 lb dog to get washed and brushed and very little trim it cost me $48. I thought that was a little high, but it has been awhile since I had to take a dog in for grooming. This was his first grooming session ever. |

| I looked up the address and it is on Park Row. $48 is a bit higher than PetSmart but if they are good then I am willing to pay. For what I get at PetSmart I feel I get ripped off. They don't listen to what you say there and they make excuses as to why they couldn't do what you said. Just a bad experience all around with their grooming.

| They did a great job with him, I just thought the price was high, but like I said I haven't had to take one to the groomers in awhile. |

| Just a FYI, I heard the groomer's at Petsmart only go through a 2 week training period prior to grooming. |

| Hi, I take mine to Carmen at PetSmart off I-20 and Great Southwest. My other groomer retired and this is who she recommended. They have only been to her once but I thought she did a good job, I have a yorkie and a maltese. I bathe them between groomings because of the cost, about $100 for the 2 of them. I would be interested to hear about your experience with VIP grooming, I don't know anything about them.

| Tried a new groomer I found a groomer on the corner of Arkansas and Bowen in the shopping center with the green roof. It's called Shear Heaven Pet Spa & Boutique. I took Bella and Bear there and had them completely shaved down (because they were both so matted from not being groomed for about 5 months) and their face trimmed up. It cost me $69 (w/tax) for both. She charges $28 for a trim-up and $32 for a full cut groom. I can't really tell at this point how good they are going to be because they didn't actually groom them, they just shaved them. I will be taking my others there soon so I will report back on their experience.
