I need some regional help. Can anyone tell me about Savannah? I need info and have been on the internet, but cannot find honest school info, good areas, newpaper, anything I would want if I moved there...

Thanks, I did that.....but, what I am really looking for is....
Someone who lives there......or has lived in that area before.....

I need the inside scoop on schools, homes...etc.....

My son and daughter-in-law lived in the Savannah area and when through the same thing before they moved. They moved to Pooler, I think it was Effingham county. They didn't have any school age children but were concerned with daycare. I can ask her tomorrow about other good areas for schools and good websites to check. Sometimes realtors can give you guidance in that area too.

Any info would be appreciated. Realtors..are told to be unbiased.....so info on schools might be swayed...

My old roommate was from savannah. Absolutely beautiful city. I can only help you school wise...get your kids into the private schools there (She went to Savannah Country Day)..let just say the public schools arent the best..good luck!

My cousin and his family were transferred to GA from NJ, they bought a home in St. Simon's Island. Education is a priority for them so his children attend private school. Is a state school report card available to compare schools? We have that here in Jersey. I do know that they love living there and feel as if they're on vacation every day.

Her advice was Effingham County and Brian County. I know that Richmond Hill is in Brian County, not sure what all towns are in Effingham. She stressed NOT Chatam County which is the county Savannah is in. Supposedly NONE of their schools are any good. Hope this helps!

I have been doing my research.....seems Richmond Hill is expensve, so that does say something if the schools are better there....

The only good schools in Chatham county are the private schools..The public ones are horrible..

Looks like I am headed further South.....hubby has officially accepted a job in Savannah......whew......

So, if anyone has any pointers on rental homes, we will rent for a while until we decide where to live......and schools........I am worried to death about that....

Help!!!!
