| reputable breeder in fla? Hi everyone.. Looking for a reputable breeder in Florida. Will travel to get the perfect pup. Lost our 5 year old last September to illness. We originally purchased our yorkie from an upstate NY breeder where we lived. We are new to Florida and I have been on the web searching but noone will allow us to visit the pups. They all ask for a deposit first! When we purchased our last little one, we were able to visit the breeders home, play with the pups and she interviewed me!! Feedback would be extremely helpful. |

Yorkie Yakker | Try Blue Diamond Yorkies she's in Jacksonville. I got my Snickers from them. I had several conversations with her before I got my pup so I felt comfortable with her even tho i did not go to her home. She made the offer to meet since it was some distance for me to travel. She gladly offered answers to all the questions I asked and even tho I didn't go to her home I felt quite comfortable with her. |

| Never buy a dog unless they allow you to see them. How they were raised the parents extra. Unless you are rescuing one..Paying alot of money its better to support good breeding. Dog Breeders Map List- The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America |

| I'm lucky I live by a breeder who does a good job imo. I get to see the puppies when born. Can visit once a week for the 12 weeks Get to see the medical records of prenatal blood work ect. The breeding history. But now that I know her she will let me come over and help clean poop ...never took her offer . But shes a show breeder and just breeds for her next show dog. Sometimes u need to get on a waiting list. Took me 2 1/2 yrs to get Winnie JME |

| Panama city, fl Hi, If you are interested in CKC Registered yorkies in the panhandle, check out Roman Empire Yorkies (Roman Empire Yorkies - Yorkie Breeder | Panama City, FL). It is run by a retired vet & proceeds go to small dog (mainly yorkies, mores etc) rescue (Formerly Pooh Corner Rescue). She specializes in breeding small-normal sized, sweet-tempered four pawed family members & therapy dogs. I adopted my furbaby from her 2 yrs ago, and haven't been happier. She takes great pride in matching baby to parent, & is incredibly good at it! She not only encourages meeting the pups, but prefers it. She is very dedicated to her puppys' welfare post-adoption, so not only do you receive very healthy puppies- if for any reason you cannot continue to care for the Yorkie, she will take it back. Her prices are reasonable for what you get (especially in comparison to other breeders), does have any waiting list, as she only breeds her females twice a year, and... her website is sometimes not updated (due to hosting location & busyness), but send her an email & she will get back to you. Good luck! |

| GA Breeder I purchased my 2 Yorkies from Lisa Carter. www.carteryorkies.com Moultrie, GA Mine are both very healthy, come from good lines and great temperaments. She has been breeding Yorkies for a very long time, is extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions before I reserved my first puppy with her. I think she has 2 available right now. At least, she did recently. Her puppies sell fast. |

| lynne new member I looked at the Lisa Carter website. She mentions many of her dogs come from Champion bloodlines. Does she post health testing information going back several generations on OFA?Does she do any health testing of parents and grandparents ie. at least eye and luxating patella of previous generations? I know that she is not a member of the Yorkie Breeders of America. Would appreciate any member comments. I am looking for good health and temperament going back several generations. Testing takes effort and time but is not terribly expensive and can be listed on OFA for not very much money. Does she currently show any of her dogs? |

| CarterYorkies in GA Lisa is very honest, forthcoming. My suggestion is for you to contact her regarding your questions. When I bought Mr. Miyagi from her in 2016 she told me things about her puppies I never even knew to ask about. I was so happy with him that I ended up buying Ms. Misha from her last year. My Vet says both of my dogs are healthy and thriving. 💙💜 |

| Thanks,Pattie McD. I spoke with Lisa many months ago but do not recall that she did any health testing going back several generations. If she has many champions it would not be difficult to look up their health testing information on OFA.This still does not guarantee a healthy puppy but it does increase the odds for the dog having good health if she came from good bloodlines.I am happy that your puppies are healthy. You do seem to think that Lisa is a reputable breeder which is what I really want. |

| Because of this thread I contacted Lisa as we are now looking for a Yorkie since we lost Beamer yesterday. I was impressed. I asked her if she has the puppies vet checked and she said she doesn't. She gives them their first shot and deworms them and requires you to take them to the vet when you receive the puppy. If there is a problem the puppy can be returned. I am going to be sending her a deposit to reserve me a puppy from her current litter.
