| Bouley's Kennel or another breeder? Hello! I'm new to the site and am looking to adopt my very first Yorkie. I was looking at a breeder on the CKC website, Barbara Bouley of Bouley's Kennel and was wondering if anyone knew anything about her? Or, if there was a reputable breeder that someone could recommend in my area. I'm willing to drive a reasonable distance and am located in Columbia, SC. |

| From what I have learned the CKC in America = Continental Kennel club is not a reputable registry anyone can register with them. Their website implies that they are a registry for purebred dogs but that is not true. In Canada the CKC Canadian Kennel Club is like our AKC American Kennel Club that does keep a registry of the purebred lines. Even with theses registries bad breeders can register their dogs so you really have to research the breeder. Here are some good tips from the YT library Breeding and Breed-Specific Library - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community . I would also look for a breeder through the YTCA Yorkshire Terrier Dog Breeders- Yorkie Puppies but once again do your research. Good luck on your search Yorkies are wonderful companions.
