Default Official Florida Meetup

I have sent out invitations to all that have posted in the Sunny Florida Yorkie owners. This is for those that have not gotten the invitation. We are planning a meet-up and attached is the invitation. Please post here and pm me so that we can get a count of the people that are going!

It is going to be at the Fort DeSoto Beach Paw Play Ground.

This is a off leash dog beach!

Hope to see you all soon!

My dog, she looks at me sometimes with that look, and I think maybe deep down inside she must know exactly how I feel. But then maybe she just wants the food off my plate.

Oh! I was thinking we could start early to avoid the afternoon sun. Around 9am since some people are driving from far away.

The reason we chose this place is because it has beach access for our furbabies which will help them cool off.

Another thing we could do is to set up an x-pen and set up some portable battery powered fans. We all live in Florida I bet we all have some battery operated fans lying around for hurricane season lol. If we could get 5 or 6 we could set them up in the x-pen...

i read that apparently they have dog fountains and little pools for the dogs to help them cool off in addition to the ocean water.. & a large fenced in small dog area

Lulababy just recommended that we change the time to avoid the afternoon heat. Therefore we are thinking of changing it from 2 to sunset, so that things get cooler as time passes instead of hotter. Also, It will be nice and windy at the beach as sunset comes along. Thank you all for your support.

Ewwwww 1-5 is the hottest part of the day! I am not sure what the weather is like in Miami but it has been hitting 100 every afternoon in Tampa!
Of course this week we have had daily summer showers. That has cooled things down. If we did it in afternoon could we do it maybe 4?

For those coming from far away are you spending a night around here?
I guess that will make a difference too!

Yeah I have a 5 hour drive from Miami. We could do it from 4 to sunset. I think it would be a good time. I will probably just stay the night and head out the next day . Everyone like the 4 to sunset?

Default Parvo

There is a great deal of Parvo in Florida right now..so be sure all your Yorkies are up to date on shots...avoid areas where strange dogs have pooped and keep them away from stranger dogs..hope all have a great time.

Hello all! I think it's terribly coincidental that I plan on making a trip to the Tamp area that weekend to visit my hopefully future puppy! Well, have fun! Maybe the next meet-up I can make it (you know, when I actually have a puppy)...
