Default Greensboro Triad NC area meetup MAY 10

All, we are working on a meetup in Greensboro or Kernersville NC scheduled for May 10. Please reply on this thread if you can come or want to help.

It will be a informal meetup.

Thanks!

I hope you have it in K-ville...it's very close to me. I will chime in at a later date if I can definitely attend. I haven't been able to attend a meetup in a few years.

Where is Greensboro? I live in Summerville, SC (it's like a suburb of Charleston, SC)

I'd love to come if it's not more than 3 hrs. drive and not a large town. I'd be lost trying to navigate Charlotte!

Alright, Hannah, Canada is not all THAT far away, lolol!! Thor was the KING of one of our meetups in Greensboro, and he had SOOOO much fun playing with Cindy's Buddy!! Drive on down, it's beautiful down here around that time, and I know it's still freezing up north, lol! You can stay at my house, honey!

Default Kernersville dog park not open yet

Hi everybody! We wanted to use the new dog park at Kernersville but it is NOT open yet! I called to find out! ugh! Kernersville would be great because it is right on I-40 and easy to find the park.

Both Greensboro and Winston-Salem have dog parks and it will be great when Kernersville does.

If we had enough x-pens, we could reserve a picnic shelter and make our own fence with the X-pens.....

If we can reserve a shelter at Kernersville, would that be OK with everyone?

Smile I'm there IF...

We are winding down on the Habitat house, and if things are not too crazy, I would love to go with my girls!

Wosie had her 1st Bday party at the Bark Park in Greensboro. The small dog enclosure is really big, and the pups have a lovely time running and playing together while the peeps talk about all things Yorkie!

Couple of things about it: you have to bring lawnchairs or a blanket to sit on. There is only one small stone bench, and no picnic tables inside the enclosure (the last time I was there, which was about 18 months ago). On weekends they close all car accesses, so it is about a half mile hike from the parking lot to get to the enclosures. It's a piece of cake for the pups, but if you are carrying extra pounds or elderly, it can be challenging. Anyone who is disabled can call Country Park and ask if they can have special dispensation to have someone open the gate and let them drive to the enclosures. There is a person & dog water fountain inside the enclosure with a basin that the pups can drink out of but it's not real clean. Most dogs don't care, but their peeps do, lol. It's quite wooded inside the enclosure, and I would make sure my pups had tick protection. You would also want to bring food or drink in a cooler that has wheels, because you sure don't want to lug it all that way!

Here's some pics from our time there! Feel free to PM me when the details gel, OK? Thanks!

If you want to do KVille, that's a bit closer for me, so I don't mind! However, I don't own an XPen...

Hi Glad! Oh, I have been meaning to PM you about this...... The Bark Park is great but others are telling me that alot of car breakins are happening for the reasons you sited about people being so far away from the cars.....ugh!

So, it does look like Kernersville will be the spot. Next, we need to reserve a shelter at the Fourth of July park.

Will need to charge a fee to make the shelter rental AND we could also buy a x-pen that could be used as a drawing gift? Do you still have any rolls of tickets/coupons we could use for drawings?

Thanks!

I made my own tickets. I have a template I can email you if you would like. I think I still have your email address, but if you want to pm me with it, that would help.

I look forward to seeing you!

OK. So today I mailed off my deposit for the shelter...(good thing I called as they only had one shelter left to reserve) and an application for a special use permit for the X-pens...If we are approved for the x-pens, it will be a go to have fun!

lol...wweeelllll seeing as how that is SOOOOO far away from me, I don't think I'll be able to come...

The 4th of July park is about 5 minutes from my house...lol And I drive by it all the time on the way to work.

If you guys need help with anything, PM me...I always forget to check this section. Of course I'll be there, no prob. I'll have to decide who to bring...or I could always go back and forth to my house and switch babies...lol

I have one xpen I think.
