| For those having problems accessing chat and have a PC, check out our mIRC chat guide here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8227 For those with problems using the Java chat, here is an alternative method to access YorkieTalk chat. First, get mIRC from http://www.mIRC.com and download it to your own computer. mIRC is a PC-only program, there is a similar program called Snak for Macs. It is a free program! Okay, install the program and then run it. It should pop up a Options Window. Here's what you can put in: Full name, just put in your your YorkieTalk username Email address: anything works, no one can see your email address Nickname: put in your YorkieTalk username (maximum of eight characters) Alternative: put in an alternative username (like user2) (maximum of eight characters) Check the Invisible Mode box Now click OK. Now you are in the Status window. Type in '/server irc.blessed.net' without the ' It will pop up a mIRC Favorites box. Type in #yorkietalk and click the Join button (Alternatively, if that server does not work, you can try '/server irc.prison.net' or '/server irc.qeast.net' to get onto the YorkieTalk chat network). Voila, you are now in Chat! And you can still browse YorkieTalk at the same time! When you see a Web link posted in chat, just double-click the link, and it will open in your Internet browser. Enjoy! Please let us know if you have any questions or where anything doesn't make sense. Enjoy the chat! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Try a different server, such as /server irc.prison.net or /server irc.qeast.net After you get the login message, type in /join #yorkietalk if no popup window shows up. Usually ident is not necessary. Good luck! Last edited by fasteddie; 06-10-2005 at 08:27 AM. |

| Yes, it sounds like you are on the wrong chat network on mIRC. Try a different server, such as /server irc.prison.net or /server irc.qeast.net After you get the login message, type in /join #yorkietalk if no popup window shows up. Usually ident is not necessary. Good luck! |
