can't see pictures in threads!!!!!!

At times, I am unable to see the pictures that accompany a post. Someone will post baby number such and such or the parents and I cannot see it. I seem to be the only one having this problem since others oh and ah over the pictures. I have tried refreshing the page. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. What do I need to do to eliminate this problem. I am not that good on the computer. Seems like this only started recently. Ideas? thoughts?

There aren't any other reports of members having problems seeing pictures. Are the pictures links to other sites? Sometimes you may need to click on a link to see pictures, as pictures are not always attached to posts.

one person had this trouble before and I just happened to remember the problem -

have you checked your settings ? there's a place in your USER CP Panel that may fix this-

Click USER CP - then Click EDIT OPTIONS and Scroll down to Thread Display Options where you'll see this -

Visible Post Elements

You have the option to show or hide various elements of messages, which may be of use to users on slow internet connections, or who want to remove extraneous clutter from posts.
Show Signatures
Show Avatars
Show Images (including attached images and images in [IMG] code)

make sure they're all checked

OR it could be your computer is very low on memory ???

i have a brand new Dell so it shouldn
t be loww on memory. i can see somee pictures but some i can't. I will try what you said. Cuse the typos. I just had oral surgery this morning and am a little crazy from the pain meds right now.

I have been having this same problem the past month. I went to the user cp and checked everything ender the thread options. And is not the thread with links to pictures there is just no picture to show up. I also have a brand new computer so it surely isn't the memory. Any ideas?

You could try using another browser, such as Firefox (www.getfirefox.com) or Opera (www.opera.com) to view YorkieTalk. Both are free, and reliable.

i have a brand new computer too so I know it's not my memory. Sometimes in the post where I can
t see the picture someone has obviously posted, I click "quote" and the words ATTACH come up but then I go back and still no picture.

I don't know if this will help - but all our computers have the option to open pics the way YOU specify - I have mine set to open in Internet Explorer - not a picture program - that seems to work really well - I can always view pics

I have noticed the same thing, in some threads I cant see the pics. I remember one of them that I couldnt see and that was in the halloween contest thread, I wasnt able to see the pics posted by Jenn of Mojo I couldnt see any of the pics at all. But everyone elses I could see!

ok. START AT YOUR WINDOWS START BUTTON bottom of your screen - left side....

click that - then click CONTROL PANEL -
look for FOLDER OPTIONS....
click FILE TYPES
click JPEG
click CHANGE

you should see a pop up that says "Choose the program you want to open this file"

Look for the BLUE 'E' if you use internet explorer and click on that

if you don't use IE - find YOUR Internet Browser program

that's it...now all your pictures should open in your browser and not a specified program and you can normally just right click to save them just as you would on the net if you were snagging a picture -

if you want your pictures to open in - say....Photoshop - or another editing program - such as Microsoft Editor - you can set it there to do that too -

It didn't work. When I go to this post that has a poodle picture ,(dray), I don't see anything. If I hit quote I see there is an attachment.dog hair colour?

aaaaahhhhh...gotcha...I did see it ...she posted an embedded picture I think it's called ?? That IS strange but I did see the picture AND the attachment -

that may be your computer settings..the good thing is there aren't too many pictures posted like that - usually they show as thumbnails and you can see those right ?

When you say thunmnails do you mean a little picture you click on to see a larger view? If that is what you are saying then yes I see those fine. And you are right, it is not very many that I can't see.
