| Admin or anyone, why are threads disappearing???? I have been reading Cheryl's posts about her cat, I hit the new post button then it is gone. I'll do this several times and then it fianlly shows up. Where does it go? Why isn't it in at least the first 2 or 3 pages of threads? This happened with another thread I was trying to follow tonight. Since admin updated, I don't things are as user friendly as they were.

| This thread is a perfect example. It has not shown up yet in new posts. Yet I see other new posts. Admin, why does this happen?

Administrator | Unless threads are out of hand or otherwise cause some sort of problem (such as spam, duplicate threads, or lacking required info in the for sale posts), they are not deleted here at YorkieTalk. New posts ONLY show you threads with posts that you have not read. If you post a new thread or a new reply in a thread, it will not show up in New Posts (for you) because the system considers you as having read that thread. For everyone else, that thread you just posted in will show up in the New Posts link because it is a new post for them. If you click on a thread that shows up in the New Posts link, the next time you click New Posts, that thread will not show up in the list because it has now been marked 'read'. This is a more efficient method, because members can now easily see what they have or haven't read and what threads have new posts in them on YT. If you want to clear your New Posts list, click on Quick Links then click Mark Forums Read and it will consider you as having read all current threads up until that time. We understand some member may not like this, and may be used to the old system, for those members, you may click on Quick Links then click Today's Posts. This will show you a list in reverse chronological order (meaning new posts first) of new threads for today, which will include threads in which you are the last person to reply and include threads which you have started. Alternatively, you can also bookmark this link below in your browser's favorites, which will give you results of the old style of the New Posts link... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sea...ew&oldmethod=1 Also, feel free to PM us with any site questions or comments in the future. Thanks! Last edited by admin; 05-09-2006 at 08:34 PM. |

| I just posted in the general and admin moved it to pacific northwest something. I didn't even know that existed. I had to do a search for posts I did under my name to find it. ?????
