I would write instructions, but I have done it in the past and the person I wrote them for didn't understand them.

Do you still have the instructions? I'd love to read them, I bought the book
Master Visually for Photoshop elements 3 but it has everything but avatars.
I have heard it takes a long time to learn, but I really do want to

You're having trouble with the making the animated ones with photo shop, or with sizing and posting them? For using the animation part of photo shop. follow the instructions on how to make a banner.

Try searching ANIMATION & LAYERING in your manual...also - there are great Help sites (Tutorials) on the net for doing amimated pictures...you just have to find one that applies to what you want to do and make sure you have that program....Once you learn how to layer pictures - the animation part is pretty easy.

When I taught myself 3 years ago...I did net searches for a week reading...but there are more help sites out there now.

I have a FREE ULEAD gif animator I can email people - it is simple and will show you the basics...just pm me.

It's really hard to type out directions...with so many programs out there ..many of the steps may not apply.

If you pm me...I'll give you my email and you can send me your picture...I can size it for you.

The best way to get an Avatar sized picture is to CROP first...(delete most background) then size it to 75 x 75 pixels.....

Computer what program do you use?

What's the best photo program to get to do stuff like this? I am interested in doing this and other stuff. When I go looking for the program there is so much to choose from. Any suggestions??

I would like a copy. I've been working on making my own moving avatar but can't figure it out. That way I don't have to bother you for help like I always do. LOL

Sweetie..you don't bother me and you'll have yours today...

TeddyBear...there ARE lots of programs - the best is Photo Shop...but it takes lots of reading and patience to learn that program...when you get the basics it does get easier......I personally do mine in Photo Shop Elements 2....I'm too lazy to learn all the Photo shop stuff...and I find animations are easy for me in PS Elements

This is a FREE download if anyone wants it....It's PSP 7 and I believe comes with Animation functions....Click THIS :

I've used PSP7 for years, and LOVE it. Some folks I know have upgraded to 8 and 9, then are disapointed. I'm happy they've brought back this version for people to try.

I'm also happy to help make avatars for anyone. Just ask!

Love

I use PhotoShop Elements and it's kind of easy to use.

I tried the ULead animator and it wasn't hard to do.

Kiss Me Tooooooooo..........!!

I have been wanting to learn how to do the animated avatars for the longest time, since I joined here and seen alot of people with them. I just learned how to put one on here but unfortunately had to have a good person from here do the sizing for me. I have adobe photo shop on my computer is this what I can use? or is their another program of photoshop I need?
