Thor's Human Donating Member | Could we get a potty training sticky in training? It seems like 95% of the training threads are new people asking for basic advise about how to potty train their yorkie. Maybe we should have a sticky on the basics, + some links to books like "House Breaking for Dummies". I would be happy to write a draft and submit it for review if that would be helpful.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If you could write a potty training post that would be helpful for beginners - that'd be GREAT!

Thor's Human Donating Member | Hey, just wanted to say I am still planning to do this. The topic is still percolating and coagulating and all that good stuff. If anyone wants to add their best potty training tip here, please feel free!

| I think this is a wonderful idea. Thank you for doing it. I'm still going through the process of potty training so I'm not an expert on the subject. Here's a list of my top 10 questions that I have either read, had, or still have on the subject. 1. How do I get them to understand that outside means it's time to potty not play? (I struggle with this one.) 2. How often do you take them outside to potty? 3. How long do you take them outside for? 4. How do you reinforce/encourage them to potty outside? 5. How do you keep them from making messes in the house? 6. How do you train them to use potty pads? 7. Is it too late to them to train them to go potty outside once you have trained them to use potty pads? 8. How often do you change the potty pad? 9. How do you keep them from tearing up the potty pad? 10. What are potty bells and how do I train them to use them?
