Warning?????

I just replied to a thread and noticed a few avatars had changed. They said something like "warning your privacy data is in danger." When I went back to look again, the avatars were fine at first and then changed again to the warning.

Is there spyware on YT?

Not sure if there is spyware but there are definitely cookies. This is pretty much the only site I regularly visit on my laptop other than checking my private email box and when I run the spyware/adaware cleaner I always end up with two hundred and something notations.

Yes that happened to me to, and my puter was running like crap, I installed new virus software and it has not been back since..it said the same exact thing..be careful and dont click it.

I suggest that everyone should run a good spyware and antivirus software. I got rid of norton becuase it wouldn't clean my kids computer that my nephew messed up. One of the guys in IT told me to run AVG. You can get it for free on download.com and to also run adaware. Both are free and work. The AVG cleaned my kids puter. The best part is that it's totally free and has been that way for several years. The girls computer was so bad that I tried for four days running to clean it with the norton with no luck whatsoever. I was ready to trash the pc.

We use AVG also. A few years ago my brother got a whopper of a virus on our computer. Norton did nothing for it. AVG is definitely better.

McAfee itself put a worm in my computer about a month ago. i had to call Dell and get an entire set of installation discs and have them walk me thru everything in my computer and they determined the worm came directly from McAfee. I now have AVG. i don't know about the avatars but I would be extremely concerned the way some people put themselves or their CHILDREN in the avatars. That should be an absolute no-no.

There are definitely no spyware or viruses on YorkieTalk at all. We have no idea why avatars would be changed unless members change it themselves. However, we can not guarantee that when you go to a link or another site that you may see in a thread here.

I guess I can understand why people who post there personal information online would have to be a lot more careful. I don't and there is absolutely nothing you can find out about me by my picture in my avatar other than what I look like. Lots and lots of strangers see what I look like everytime I go out in public.

I did a screen shot of the page with the avatars and saved it in Word if you want to see it. I couldn't figure out how to post it here.

I agree. It seems like it would be a lot of work for a predator to fly over to Florida and search everywhere to find the right "Nikki" from yorkietalk. I think the breeders that are required to post their information are at much more of a risk than those who show a picture of themselves.

I know- it would have to be a pretty amazing picture to inspire that level of dedicated craziness. I don't have my full name or contact information posted online anywhere so a picture just isn't much to go on.
