| Opinions needed about Paisley Hi everyone, I would really appreciate any opinions on this matter. Yesterday I noticed Paisley would go pee pee and just a few seconds later she would go again but only little dribbles would come out or nothing at all. She would do this a few times and then stop. Today she was still doing it so I thought she might have an infection. I took a urine sample to my vet to be tested but nothing showed up. Paisley is acting completely normal. She's eating, drinking and playing rough as she usually does. She is teething and even drooling because of it. However, it has let up some today. Other then this odd peeing thing, she seems her typical self. My vet said to watch her for another day or two but if it doesn't stop then she will need to be seen. I was just wondering if anyone has had this issue with their baby before? I don't know much about this kind of stuff and now I'm concerned it could be a stone or something even worse. Could I be plain paranoid? She is 7 months old and I also wondered if she could be going into heat soon and her private area is perhaps bothering her. She's scheduled to be spayed November 1st but now I'm not sure if that will take place. I'm just really confused and would apprecaite any thoughts on this. Please keep Paisley in your prayers. I hope by some miracle she wakes up tomorrow and this is all over and just some stange thing to happen. Thanks for the help everyone.

| I don't think you're any more paranoid than any of us would be. It is such a worry when they aren't the norm. I don't have any helpful advice...just wanted to wish you and Paisley well and I will pray that it turns out to be nothing! Hugs to you and sweet little Paisley!

| I wish I had a clue as to what it is, but she's just WAYYYY too cute for anything to be wrong with her, so I'm hoping it's just something "normal"....like heat. I don't have a girl (yet) so I don't know. I'll def. keep you and Paisley in my prayers though!

| That happened to Miko when he was around that age too...I had them do a urinalysis and a urine culture, but they said he didn't really have a UTI. They sent him home with antibiotics, but I wasn't satisfied with that. Well, it turns out that he had crystals/stones Instead of taking in a sample of urine, you might take her in first thing in the morning and let them get an uncontaminated sample themselves. Tell them to check for crystals and stones, and if she has them, have them analyzed. They might want to do an x-ray or ultrasound to check for stones. Certain kinds of stones do not show up on x-rays, only on ultrasounds. I hope your baby girl starts feeling better soon!! She's such a cutie pie!

Thank you so much for the help. If you don't mind me asking, what did they have to do for Miko since he did have the stones?

| Is this a new behavior? I only ask because this is how Riley potties, but she has always done so. Unless she's just bursting to go, she will pee in multiple sessions with the first being a normal amount and the second, third just drops. It's just how she is, though. So if Paisley hasn't always done this I would definitely be concerned. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I know this may sound weird, but could she be marking? My females do this (yes females do it too ) I have one in particular who does it quite often. She will smell where someone else has gone, wheather it be #1 or #2 and lift one leg (Yes she cocks a leg up too LOL - only not like a male, just cute) and will pee on it. Sometimes - most of the time- its just dribbles or nothing at all, since she's already done it in other places. She does this ALOT. Just a thought I wanted to throw out there for you. I hope all is ok with your cutie!!!! |

Hi, I know what your talking about because my Pia is like that, LOL. However, Paisley is definately not marking. She doesn't seem in any pain but this is not like her at all. I'll be calling the vet first thing in the morning. Thanks for the kind words.

It's very important to find out what kind of stones they are because the treatment will depend entirely on the type... But in any case, feeding the dog a diet that is high in moisture and treats that are high in moisture like watermelon or apple will help keep the urine diluted and prevent stones from forming. Struvite stones are dissolvable whereas calcium oxalate and ammonium urate are not.

| kisses for you tonight i hope it is o.k. good advice. I had a lab yeas ago that did that but it got worse at night, i took him in and it was crystals. but he was very uncomfortable. he was running in and out. so i am hoping your baby is just having a new pattern in peeing . i would just keep watching her.
