| Weird looking Vomit...HELP!!! Vinnie was asleep on the couch with us, when we finally wandered upstairs to bed last night he decided it was play time. He grabbed a bully stick and went to town while mommy and daddy fell asleep. Eventually he got tired and joined us in bed, but not without kissing mommy first, as always! After about 3 hours I woke up to him throwing up on the bed. Vinnie will be a year on Halloween and he doesn't throw up. He did when he was a baby because he would try to run and eat at the same time, and it was undigested. The odd thing about this is, there was nothing liquid about what he threw up, I don't know how to explain it, it was light brown and smelled like vomit, but came out and excuse me for being gross here, but long and it looked like bad "poo", which I don't think it was actually poo but that's the closes way i can describe the shape. He was fine this morning, although I hated to leave him, because like i said he's never vomited like that. There was little change to the bully stick and i'm positive there was nothing else he could've gotten to in our bedroom, i'm a clean freak and we sleep with the door closed. He nibbles the length of the bully stick, doesn't just chew on the end. I'm so confused about this! Could he have just had too much of the bully stick???

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hmmm....odd. The only thing I can think of is that there was some undigested food in his tummy that combined w/ SOMETHING to make a goo of it. Perhaps some "fur" from a stuffed toy, or a piece of tissue on the floor or...? But, he does sound like he's okay now. Maybe have drink some extra water to be sure he's hydrated.

YT 500 Club Member | Do you have a cat? It sounds like a hair ball that I have seen a few times. Could he have gotten some cat hair? Our dog vomits occasionally, and it always looks different depending on what the problem is.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Poor baby. Sounds like he may have eaten the bully stick to quickly. My Pom sometimes throws up her food and it looks like a tube shape. Like it was sitting in her throat and then came back up. SHe wolfs her food down and this happens sometimes. Hope he feels better soon.

| Maybe he got a little larger piece of the bully stick then you thought. I'm glad he's ok today.

Donating Yorkie Yakker | I know I know what you're talking about. Skippy has vomited many times like this-I've always thought it was a treat that didn't agree with him-his is just like you've describes. I wonder , has he lost all of his teeth? Could it be like babies, upset stomach with sore teeth? I don't know- Skip has vomited about once every 1-3 weeks since we've had him. I think he just has a sensitive stomach. Hope your guy feels better. |
