| Chryptorchid My pup who is 5 mo's old was diagnosed with this and i am planning on getting him fixed soon, but it seemed starting yesterday he couldnt go to the restroom and was whining and sitting funny. At first maybe I thought he had hurt his tail or something, but he's very tender in his boy area.. Can chryptorchid cause any other urinary or penile issues?? am I being a hypochondriac? Thanks guys |

| Sometimes an undescended testicle can twist. If he is acting like he is in pain and can't potty, you need to get him to the vet. Here's some information about chryptorchid. If you scroll down, there is a section on it. http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_canine_neuter.html |

Wow, I never knew that could happen. He won't let me anywhere near that area- he cries a lot. That seems to make a lot of sense. My parents are babysitting him today and say hes jumping around and playing like usual - but a mommy always knows when somethings not right. Has this happened to anyone else??

| Actually, one of the testicles the vet can't even find, its not anywhere near the skin at all. I'm just worried that he twisted one now and I'm wondering how I would know if he did. |

| With such a delicate area...your best bet would have him examined by the vet. Hey may suggest surgically nuetering, which is going to happen anyway, since the testicle cannot be found.

| No, but it can cause him great pain, if not taken care of. It should be looked at and taken care of ASAP

| My Rebel was cryptorchid. When he was neutered, one of his BB's was actually in his upper thigh so his surgery was more involved. If he's in pain, he needs to be checked now.

| The vet is thinking it has to do with his anal gland - but I'm convinced this has to do with his testicular area instead |

I suspect if your vet had pain "down there", he'd be running to a doctor pretty fast!

| I have a 3.9 lb little boy that was just neutered last Mon ( six days ago) ..... they had to go into the abdomen to find one of them..... he had a hard time pottying the day after his surgery ... I took him to the er vet at 1:00 in the morning and they had to catherize him... they said he refused to go potty because he was sore... ( he was taking pain meds ) I guess he is just a little wus.... I am so glad the surgery is over .... and he is back to himself.... I have been waiting to get this done since I got him in Feb... I knew they hadn't dropped when we got him and because he was so small I didn't think they would .... vet kept saying give him more time ... he is little... but he started marking so I knew it was time.... |

| My boy was cryptorchid & we never had any strange side effects from it. Luckily it was subcutaneous - not in his abdomen or hard to find. It was a double incision neuter but they found it right there under the skin & all was well. I hope your boy feels better! A vet exam would put a lot of worries to rest & give you options.
