| Pray for my pup Irish!! They say she might have a liver shunt. I am taking her to a vet hospital in Columbus, Ohio here in an hour. She is at my local vet office right now. She had low sugar, vomitting, diareha, blindness, and seizure. So they want me to go to the place where they send all there blood work. She is 6 months old. Very sweet baby. They did'nt think she was going to make it through the night. Well she made it SHes a strong baby.. Here are some pics of her. |

| update on Irish Irish got to come home yesterday afternoon. She is doing alot better. She does have a liver shunt. They put her on a special diet. To see if that helps her. Also on some meds. None of the vets thought she would make it. She was not able to see for one night. THe blindness went away. SHe goes back in two weeks. To see if she needs surgery. Or unless she has anymore spells. Here are some pics. THe one is a pics of her being transported to the medvet hospital. The others are from today. I will post better ones today. These are with my cell phone.. Thank you everyone for keeping her in your prayers. I will keep ypu guys updated.. Irish and her mommy Tammy |

| I am praying for your Irish...I know what you are going through, as I went through this about 3 yrs ago...Everything will be okay if you get her on the right protocol. What kind of food did they put Irish on? She looks like such a sweetheart. What kind of testing did they do, if I may ask? Please join the liver shunt and mvd group on yahoo groups: http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/L...d_MVD_Support/ Tell them your situation and what you've been through, and you will get a ton of helpful advice. Also, they have an extensive amount of information in their FILES section. Please join the group. If you have any questions at all regarding liver shunt or liver disease, please don't hesitate to ask. Did they put your baby on lactulose or any supplements like denosyl or milk thistle? These are very important for liver compromised dogs. Lactulose helps absorb toxins and push them out of the body so that they don't have seizures. Also, the denosyl and milk thistle help protect the liver from further damage and help regenerate the parts that are damaged. They help the liver function properly.
