| Please pray for my baby Sasha started limping late last night. I took her to the vet today and she has LP. The vet says she needs to be operated. I have decided that I will take her tomorrow morning to get operated. Please pray for her, as you know my step father just passed away and now this. I have spent my day crying. PLEASE pray for my little baby!

| Oh Hun, I am so sorry. There are lots of YTers dealing with LP (me included). She will be ok. Did the Vet say what Grade it was? Who is doing the surgery? A lot of us recommend a Board Cert. Ortho Specialist do the surgery, b/c they have lots of experience and they are more 'artistic' when they are actually inside the leg. Do a search here for Luxating Patella, you'll find lots of threads. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | oh no !! This seems to be so fast from diagnosis to operation - is there a way you can get another opinion to see if surgery is a must ?? Wishing you all the best bit if you can see one more vet to get a confirmation you'll feel better - many dogs live with LP without surgery - GOOD Luck and sending smoochies to Sasha |

| I'm so sorry to hear this! I think the suggestion to get another opinion is a good one. It might be best to check into it before having surgery performed so soon. Good luck. (hug)

| Oh so sorry to hear she has LP but it is rather quick from diagnosis to the operation. Kallie (maltese) was limping but within 24 hours was ok, she is at grade 2 LP in both legs but is 5 years old and does need surgery. So maybe this is just a flare up. Did the vet tell you at what grade the LP is at?????

| Rebel had surgery for LP on the left leg last Monday. (He also had torn ligaments) He goes back Saturday for a checkup and to have the stitches removed. At that time, the decision will be made about when to do the right leg. He's doing really well now and your baby will too! I'll be thinking about you.

| Prayer's coming your way for a safe and successful surgery. Maybe a second opinion would be appropriate. Other's have given you great info. Whatever you choose to do I hope all goes well for your baby. |
