| I'm scared for Tilly! Tilly woke me up really early this morning, (very unlike Tilly), she was shaking really hard and was pretty warm. I thought she was just nervous and was having anxiety problems which isn't uncommon for her. So I went back to sleep. She started panting really hard and I knew something wasn't right. She then had the most foul smelling yellow diaherra (sp) I have ever seen. About an hour later she did it again. I then called the vet they said for her not to eat for 24hrs and tomorrow feed her rice and cottage cheese. They also suggested giving her some pepto. So I ran to Wal-Mart to get some and when I came back she had made a mess again but this time blood was in it. She just isn't acting herself. My other furbaby is acting just fine. She hasn't had any loose stools or anything. All the vets in my town are gone for the day. I'm freaking out and just don't know what to do. I hate seeing Tilly like this! What should I do?

| I agree that you need to let her tummy and GI track settle, so go easy with food. Pepto is good. Get some pedialite as well. Keep an eye on her and if this mucus poop doesn't stop please go to the Vet. |

| I would not withhold food from a Yorkie for 24 hours. That is way too long. Atleast I would be giving some sort of sugar supplement (nutrical, karo syrup). Did your vet say to do that?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I would give Pepto, canned pumpkin, maybe some rice. I do not believe in the whole withholding food thing. Check her gums too - if they keep getting paler and paler, she is becoming dehydrated. You could give some pedialyte, corn syrup (karo), a bit of honey for some instant energy/nutrition for her.

| Yeah it was the vets office that recommended that. She hasn't ate or drank anything all day. No interest I guess. I am going to give her some pedialyte.

| Poor Tilly! By all means, keep her hydrated and see if you can get some Nutrical in her. I hope she's all better fast! I'd take her to the vet anyway, but I'm a paranoid Mom

| I tried the pedialyte and she isn't interested at all. She threw up everywhere and is still having bloody diaherra (sp). I really hope this ends soon.

| Do keep her hydrated, and if it doesn't stop I'd think about going to an emergency vet, or atleast calling one.
