| My boy is constantly licking his butt? i'm worried something is wrong...anyone have any ideas what it could be? The vets office is closed, so I cannot call until the morning. I mean, he is fine and runs to the door when someone comes in and is playing and eating, but then all of a sudden he starts licking his butt for like 5 to 10 minutes at a time! He just started this yesterday. HELP! Any ideas at all? I don't see anything. Nadas worried Mom

| I think anal glands or allergies. Otis was doing that and had licked an area on top of his tail that started to get infected. Vet said it was allergies and now he's on meds. He was also licking his front paws. Have you checked to see if it's a flea or dried poo, or anything else. (I'm sure you have)

| My baby boy has been doing the same things today. What did your vet say? How is your baby doing now?

| Otis is on his allergy medicine and he's started licking/chewing his tail again the last couple of days. I haven't missed his meds so I don't know what's causing him to have gotten worse. What did your Vet say? I think I'm gonna give him a bath with minksheen tonight.

| I ended up not having to take him, but I think everyone was right about the anal glands. The next morning, while I was waiting to call the vet, we went out for a walk in the neighborhood and he pooped THREE times! He wasn't stopped up becuase he didn't strain or anything and I had checked his bottom already, so I don't know what THREE was all about, but after that we got home and he hasn't licked since!
