| help PLEASE.. My lil girl Avery is 8 weeks old. We have been training her on the pee pads, she has always hesitated to go poop on the pads.. and it takes her a really long time to actually go. Her stool has been fine though, and she has been eating regularly. She pooped a little more than often late last night but only a little bit at a time.. She woke up normal time this morning and wanted to get up and play.. i fixed her food.. but she hasnt eaten much AT ALL. only like a bite or two this whole day.. i gave her some of the 'super cal' i was given by the breeder(which i always mix with her food). She then went to the bathroom (poop) again, on the pad(FINALLY after much looking around and hesitance!!) Her stool was normal at first then the last little bit was a clearish liquid and a yellowish clear color.-almost like a can of peaches would look-sorry to be so graphic but that is all i could describe it as) I am worried, very worried!! she has only had one set of shots.. that the breeder has given her-ANY HELP!??? The only other things we have been giving her is little pieces of puppy treats when she goes "potty". And Tim gave her a piece of Captain Crunch Cereal yesterday. ????? She is playing right now though.. which is good. but all earlier was tired and slept alot. hopefully she will start eating.

| She is really young. Did you just get her?? Have you changed her food at all that can upset their stomach and bowels?

| When you do the switch do it gradually that will help. I dont know why the yellow liquid poop though sometimes puppies bowels get messed up I would just keep an eye on it and if it continues take him to the vet

| That orange stuff is mucus. My TJ used to get that. He would wake up and I knew he didn't feel good. There were these really loud girgurling noises come from his little body. He would not eat or drink. When he was finally able to poop (could be anywhere from 1/2 hour to 10 hours later), his poop would start out being normal and then the glob of orange mucus. After this came out, he was better and would literally run to go eat. My guess is that the piece of Captin Crunch didn't agree with her system. My advice is to keep it simple for the next few weeks. Let her get a little older, b/c 8 weeks is extremely young, then you can start to give her other health things. If this mucus continues, try feeding some Brown Rice and Boiled Chicken until her digestive track calms down. If you need anything else, just ask, I'll try to help you. P.S. If you see blood in that mucus - bring her to the Vet ASAP |

| oh ok. thank you so much. i am worried. She did eat a little bit after she went to the bathroom.. and then played for a little while as well. now she is sleeping(basically what she has been doing ALL day!!) yeah i got mad at Tim for giving her that cereal-haha. but i hope that is what the problem is. it just didn't look right AT ALL-and i googled it and..giardia and coccidiai came up. There was no blood-but i just hope she is ok. i would love any other info you could give me thanks so much!! <3

| Your baby won't necessarily have blood in her poop with coccidia. My baby had a severe case of coccidia when he was a pup, and he did not have blood in his poop that I can remember. The coccidia made him extremely sick and caused him to have really bad hypoglycemic attacks.

| FYI - it took my sister and her silky a couple of poop samples for the coccidia to show up. the fresher the poop the better |

| Yep, TLC makes a really good point. Sometimes it takes a few fecal tests for the vet to actually see the coccidia.

| i took her for a check-up exam and everything seemed to be fine-he said. Avery is playing and has been eating alot-which is great. I knew she hadn't been de-wormed yet-so i did the first of two today. but the stool still was really weird to me. anyways. i will keep you posted and we will see how tomorrow goes and if she does the same thing next time she goes poop. thanks for all your responses. <3

| Ok. like i said in my earlier post we went to the vet and she was dewormed. He didnt look at the stool sample i brought completely it was still in one of the baggies and napkin-he just saw the part that had come trhough the napkin. (which didn't satisfy me). anyways.. he dewormed her and tonight she went to the bathroom and she had worms in her stool. Is this normal for the de-worming, since she had never been dewormed before?? i know i am supposed to go back in 2 weeks for another deworming.. but does she need to be put on any other meds?? im calling the vet in the morning but just wondering if anyone could help and give me some more info on worms. Please! THANKS. -should i tell the lady we got her from.. should she pay for it? since she didnt do it before?? and plus she has kids and stuff around the house-who knows where she got it?? kinda bothered about that-how should i approach it?? any advice would be great.

| Well at least you know what it is now. I would call and tell the vet she still has worms in her stool. When Chachi had them it just took one treatment to get rid of them. You can ask to breeder with some help wth the vet bills but alot of times they wont help with things like this but you can try
