| HELP!!! Riley swallowed allergy cold/sinus pill!! Im FREAKING out right now. I know Ibuprofin is harmful to dogs. The box says there is 200mg per pill. Is this enough to hurt him? I feel sooo horrible. I had one in my purse b/c I have severe allergy problems and I put my purse on the floor and he must have gotten into it. Does this need to be another night spent at the emergency vet??

| OMG, so sorry your going through this right now. I wish I could help but I honestly have no idea what to tell you. Could you possibly call a vet or an ER? Thats about the best advice I can give. I hope your baby is ok.

| Call the ASPCA poison hotline and ask what it will do to your baby. They will answer your question for free even tho the recording at first says you will be charged $40 for the call. I called and they very nicely answered my issue without even mentioning charging me or asking for my credit card info. |

| Here's a link with info about the animal poison control hotline. You'll be talking to a vet and they will tell you exactly what you should do besides contacting the ER vet. http://www.workingdogs.com/doc0002.htm Last edited by Sweetums; 04-02-2007 at 08:14 PM. |

| I would call the vet or poisen control, like everyone else already mentioned. 200mg doesn't seem like a lot, but these babies are soo little, so it definitly is a lot to them! I hope your baby's O.K...keep us updated!

| P.S. Been there, done that. I had lost a sleeping pill under my bed some time back, don't even know when, but don't you know it, or little girl found it and licked the heck out of it. It was half gone when we found it. So I talked to the hotline and everything turned out okay. Thank heavens for that service. |

| My Riley ate (or I thought he did at least, I'll never know) a Dayquil a while back. Poison control told me to give him a teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide mixed with icecream or milk. It makes them throw up. Be sure to give them a piece of bread first so they'll have something to throw up. I ended up taking him to an emergency vet that night and they gave him charcoal to nuetralize the pill. It's really dangerous for them to eat any pills. A trip to the vet is a must, but the peroxide tip is good to know. |

| my tyke ate one of my midol pills once My mom and I were in Columbus visiting my brother at Ohio State and I had dropped my purse on the floor of the car. I keep them in a little pill holder in my purse and it opened up and he found one underneath the seat I thought I had got them all and then I saw him try to get underneath the seat so I looked under to see what he got...saw the pill and I reached underneath to grab the pill but he was faster We found a phone book and called the first vet number we saw and they had us bring him in to be on the safe side. He was okay though....thank God
